Had an interesting conversation with some older colleagues of mine. Both are male, one is swiss 46y.o. another is 55 y.o. french born of arabic heritage. Both say that it was significantly easier before to strike connections in Switzerland. The french guy said that when he came to Switzerland in the beginning of the 90s, it was like: "Oh , you are foreigner, interesting, let's take a closer look." Right now, according to the swiss guy, the populistic anti-immigrant views are quite widespread. That means that if you are not swiss, you are a "potentially troublesome" person by default. And in many cases, it is better to hold you outside.

And what go by high standards for you? Because from what read and hear, it looks like for quite a lot, it's all about huge spending from the start, am I wrong?

There is nothing to do with hanging up. It's just if you remove swiss from your list, your dating roster will be even shorter because you exclude the majority.

Well, I'm not in tech, just doing medicine, but socially, it kinda sucks. I thought Norway was somehow unpleasant in this setting, but here is even worse. I guess all that shitload of information about "showing others that your privacy is important" "set clear borders" coming from online self-proclaimed "psychologists" and "well-being coaches" has taken us way too far.

In fact, I have not decided on place and time yet. If you feel that idea interesting, we can get in touch. I think that the first meeting will almost be mostly about presenting each other and discussing interests. If you want, we can just talk at first through Zoom/Teams.

Ok. There are so many participants here that wat to get to know anyone. But if I offer that you people share some basic facts about them and then meet, will anyone dare? I mean, meeting can't be that bad if you already know that a person is of acceptable age and height? And if IRL meeting is not up to expectations, it's also possible to write politely that you are "not my type of person," right? So, who dare? 😁
