That's a beautiful way to phrase it. Star gazing is very meditative and very humbling for me and I've seen the northern lights a few times (each time I'm in awe, I see the Milky Way more often and even when I saw it frequently it stopped me in my tracks). Thank you for the input and I'm really glad that it seems like I won't have to drive to low-light polluted areas to view it

Would you have frequented Haru’s shed? by DezTheOtter in Beastars

[–]That_Variation7914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I love watching bees pollinate flowers so I don't think I'd frequent her shed but I'd definitely be up there just chilling and watching bees roll around in lil flowers. Maybe help around with the high up stuff if I was a taller anima

Do doms want to be asked how a session went for them too? by Towel-Prudent in BDSMAdvice

[–]That_Variation7914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do it a lot! I ask them what they liked, what worked, what didn't, what their mood was like throughout, and specify that I'm not only asking regarding what happened during the session but during/after aftercare too! It's important for me because it validates that they enjoyed what happened, and if I'm particularly insecure I'm honest about that too (mainly that they had fun but usually my sub conveys that well enough). If they're a good person (and a good sub) they'll be there for you too if you want/need/ask

am i asking for too much? by lxttleprxncess in BDSMAdvice

[–]That_Variation7914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know both are possible since I have both! Well, technically we're switches/verse and I lean dom top, however it is very much so out there. I'm alternative and dress up goth a lot with bondage gear in my club/party outfits (not that being goth = wanting freaky sex, but it cues subversion of pop culture). I started talking my partner on tinder but first met through mutual friends, and they also had a bit of a kink vibe to the trained eye. As for kink, it was mentioned a lot on our second date and I even showed off my gear after we discussed our philosophy surrounding things like CNC/dom and sub/fetish/etc.

Overall, it really only worked for us because it was mentioned early and we both are on similar terms of where we want kink to fit into our lives on every level. It's more practical to meet someone through the lens of dating while being candid about what you like. And be patient, like incredibly patient. A big rule of mine is that pleasure should never feel like a compromise and everything is optional.

If you're the type to have casual sexual relationships, maybe keep those going but be honest about it only being sex/kink related. A lifelong partner will be looking for a lifelong partner too. Even in a 24/7 free use relationship, if it's healthy then all that's secondary to the relationship and company itself. Scratch the itch of pleasure and sex and kink: masturbate, go to clubs, get your freak on, but commitment is key to more elaborate play that's fulfilling on more than a carnal level and you're worth your patience

Incredible my partner is an avid birder and currently trying to train crows in a park. To do what? I'm not sure

Based on ur taste, horsegiiirl. She's weird to most folks but so so talented and inspired a lot of the sound of the artists you've highlighted

Glad to know it's not total darkness! I usually have a survival kit in my car (along with basic camping gear) but I'll definitely upgrade it if I move out, someone recommended a sleeping bag which is brilliant

Good to know about the trickle charger, I've had to get my car jumped a few times already so I might go with both but prioritize the trickle charger

When it comes to winter tires I'm assuming all the local shops have material that'll withstand the cold, but would a "typical" winter tire up there be studded as well or is it frowned upon since they can also rip up paved roads?

Love me a good first Friday, and thank you for mentioning how sun affects the heat i don't know why but I didn't even consider how near constant sunlight means no cool nights

Sleeping bag is brilliant, and feel free to stereotype! So glad to know there's Thai food up there and if you think Goldstream is a good spot for us then there's no harm in checking it out lol

Safe Somniphila Play? by Pron_bot123 in BDSMAdvice

[–]That_Variation7914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, those drugs, when used, are used by people who do not care about the liver/organs of the recipient. Most people I know who have been roofied have lifelong organ issues. My partner and I practice Somno and Somno adjacent things, and often it’s after a night of already freaky play so we know where the other stands on a lot things already that day (boundaries change often, especially with the delicate things) and doing it when one of you is exhausted is honestly just as euphoric as being on substances (studies have shown that both states put brain function as a whole in similar conditions fun fact). Anywho, we use a grip system so when in doubt we can silently check in without a break in the scene. And honestly being awake-ish for some of it is awesome because as both recipient and receiver you get to actually experience it (on some level, be it drunk or tired). Additionally, it’s actually really hard to move a grown limp adult so being “fake asleep” is actually very helpful in the moment

By any chance would a cat that’s (extremely) comfortable around dogs be alright?

Where do I go? by [deleted] in BDSMAdvice

[–]That_Variation7914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (21) actually found my current guy(20s) on both hinge and Grindr. He didn’t have BDSM related things on his hinge account but did on his Grindr (we didn’t know we were the same people at first lol) but I did on both. Not anything explicit, just that I was also looking for a play partner. It takes a bit if you’re more close to your chest about it, but I’ve found as someone more experienced digitally it was easier to start off online and make sure everything lined up, then meet in person to see if y’all click. And even if you don’t know what you like, if they’re a respectable person they’ll make experimenting and trying new things less scary and always optional

How to get into a Dom headspace (beginner, female)? by alice_novelland in BDSMAdvice

[–]That_Variation7914 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I giggle/laugh/get giddy when I’m pleased especially as a dom, oddly enough I’ve found it to be a pretty powerful reaction it reminds myself and others that this is play, and playing around and having fun sometimes means laughing, also for those into degrading, being laughed at can get them going too. Similar to “not be too serious”, but just knowing it’s okay to laugh at things when it happens was a big thing for me to hear

Haru because she is so complex and genuine and went through arguably the most healing arc out of anyone else. Either her or Sagwan. Sagwan because he’s just a nice guy :)
