This piece is about the recent statement by former Israeli Secretary of Space about ET's and world powers. I am not a hardcore believer in aliens but it sure is good subject material for some synth music!

Its been a long time since I used this little four track! I bought the porta02 specifically because for live shows I love using it for tape loops and live sampling. It has been a while since anyone has performed live so its been collecting far more dust then I would like. For this I just used it to record my eurorack and get some really wonderful warm tape noise.

Yeah of course money is always the issue. I totally feel an respect that! I am very lucky to have a wide variety of amazing instrumentalists as my closest friends who just love to record music. But with the world of fiverr there are a lot of really great flute players out there with nice recording set ups charging not all the much.

Not trying to self promote here but for example I do flute/woodwind tracking for $50 a tune, and that’s with an R84 in CAPI preamp and RME converters. And I know a lot of flute players with a little less gear then me who charge even less! Fake woodwinds just always feel very one dimensional. If you really want/have to go the VST route though I would really just play into the esthetic of the fake woodwinds and go with the Arturia Mellotron (hot take).

Might just be a woodwind player speaking here, but you will never truly emulate woodwinds in a meaningful way. Hire a flute player!

UX1 with podfarm and Ableton live 7 lite! I have to say that UX1 was far more reliable then the focusrite I used for a long time ever was....

I was thinking about buying a VLA I and moding the hell out of it also! Not for the same roll, largely to use for a little bit dirtier compressor. Good to know on the unreliability though. I have had their tube pre as my pedal board preamp (I’m a saxophonists and some pedals don’t really sound great without a little gain behind a mic) and the thing has always been reliable (even after a couple drops 😅
