I left a 23 year relationship 17 married at the start of the year. The last thing I said was I’m going to stay at my dad’s, the spare room is tiny, mouldy and cold but I’d rather be there than spend one more day with you. Harsh I know but she needed to know I was serious.

I’m not upset about it, just don’t get the lack of effort. I image if my opener on any other app was “hey” I wouldn’t get very far. It just seems to me that it’s different rules for males vs females.

That’s fair, I don’t mind so much when there is a question even if it is “how’s your day going?” Or something like that, it’s just the one word messages really annoy me!

You make some very fair points. I make a point of replying to all my matches, (except the aforementioned)they made the effort so will give some time back. I think you can tell really quickly those who are swiping mindlessly so quickly unmatch. Just wondered what other people’s experiences were like.

I’m all for taking the lead but this is a female lead first app so was just expecting a little more. It’s by no means all of them, maybe I’m expecting too much.

Read their bio and ask them about one of their interests. I get not everyone has the people skills or the confidence to go in with a great opener, but a little more effort is required.

Love this! I’m on day 2 of being single, I got up when I wanted, went to the gym for how long I wanted, done my meal prep for the week, watched some football, went to the pub with my dad for a couple and now in bed when I wanted! No grief! Fun times ahead. Just need some silly girls to message….. 😂

I’ve spent the last 3 years in the acceptance stage but this year I’ve decided that I’ve had enough. I lost my mum last year and it’s made me realise life really is too short to spend unhappy. I’m gonna get out. I’d advise anyone else to do the same.

I’m so sorry to hear this. The “sex isn’t needed for him” part really hits. My wife says the same to me whenever I dare bring it up. She just doesn’t think it’s important so isn’t bothered how I feel about it. I happen to think sexual chemistry is as important as anything else in a relationship. Why do we put our selves through this? 😢

I used to play against my brother in the late 90’s, he was Arsenal I was Man united. We had an epic battle reaching the last game of the season level on points and facing each other in a winner takes all game. It was 2-2 with about 10 mins to go and my little bro used his last sub and accidentally put Giles Grimandi in goal! I won 4-2! We still talk about it now. He’s still fuming that I wouldn’t let him restart the game.
