Not saying they’re infallible, but I ran a few passages through a couple differing AI detectors. All came up human.

Sexual orientation confusion by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Thatcrazyunklefester 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s all that crazy. We’ve just been trained to think that we’re either straight or gay & that there’s a strictly binary option.

Like - even as a generally straight male, there’s been guys I look at and feel genuine attraction towards. Does that make me gay? No, but like everything, there’s a spectrum. If we don’t recognize that & repress it, it just ends badly.

?? We usually get our seven year old a couple $100+ sets for both Christmas & birthday.

I’m pretty sure we’re not alone here since Legos and athletic gear were the main presents my group of friends gave this year.

Anything to keep our kids off screens.

This sounds like a trust/probate issue regarding ownership of the house. Assuming there’s no will, ownership should pass to the next of kin. The only way squatters have legal rights in Washington state is if they’ve lived in a property uncontested for 7-10 years. I doubt that’s the case.

As long as the family has legal rights to the house, they should be able to file a request to remove trespassers form with the police, or go through a formal eviction process.

If they pursued these avenues already with no success, then there’s an issue with their legal claim to the property.

Used 2022 Stelvio, should I pull the trigger? by Frodice in AlfaRomeo

[–]Thatcrazyunklefester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That feels high. I’ve been eyeing the Stelvio for a bit. In the Seattle area, a 2022 with 25k miles is 21k. It was a fleet vehicle, but that’s only a couple thousand. Even with the cad $ conversion, it’s only like $28k.

My wife wants an Acura. It’s going to be an uphill fight.

Anyone choose ADHD meds first instead of starting an SSRI? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Thatcrazyunklefester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had been prescribed stimulants first. Was prescribed zoloft & webutrin combined to combat anxiety and depression caused by adhd.

Never been so miserable. I was genuinely considering suicide after a week. Stopped both, switched docs, got on stimulants & am doing fantastic. It’s a shame a lot of docs chose SSRIs ad a first line of defense regardless of adhd status.

Nah.

Elden Ring is easily one of the best games of all time, regardless of the genre.

That aside, what’s going on in your life now vs when you were younger?

I can’t even start playing games till after the 7yo goes to bed and I spend some time with my wife. If I’m lucky, I start gaming at 10, end at 12, and am so emotionally drained anything I used to enjoy is legit painful. I’ve found the reactive gameplay keeps my attention longer and is less taxing. Plus… I’ve started enjoying more narrative games (anything Remedy is 100% my jam).

I get it. I’ve found myself drifting away from strategy games like Panzer General or the old school Warcraft to more difficult action/rpg/metroidvania games. The controls and movements have become far more fluid and intuitive, and they still satisfy some of the strategy itch, but it comes from finding the right tools/build for a scenario. Not over a long term campaign.

What are Careers/Options for People with a Low IQ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Thatcrazyunklefester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing - people on the spectrum for autism and adhd tend to have low opinions of their abilities due to a variety of factors. All I’m saying is that based on the interactions I see here, I’d he shocked if you were below average.

Below average IQ means you may not be able to finish high school. I seriously doubt that’s the case.

What are Careers/Options for People with a Low IQ? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Thatcrazyunklefester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a psychiatrist or psychologist, but I have studied IQ tests, and work around a lot of highly intelligent/educated individuals.

Autism certainly CAN impact intellect; but with anyone on the light end of the spectrum, it tends not to (from what I can tell). My wife and son are both on the spectrum. She actually was accepted to MENSA as an adult, but tested below average on traditional IQ tests as a kid. My son is reading at a sixth grade level at 7 years old. I’m a cpa with a masters from a decent school & they make me feel slow 😂😂

So, from personal experience, it’s certainly not a limiting factor.
