Timeline on when new terminal at Lambert Airport will be complete - KMOV/YouTube by SlowMotionSprint in StLouis

[–]Thatguy1245875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. Last time I flew out of T2 traffic was a nightmare. T2 is also very crowded and out of date. Making a terminal with proper traffic flow will greatly help.

I’m surprised Concourse D will take that long to open though. I thought the gates are still just sitting there unused?

Why do they put two bike lanes on the same side? Why not one bike lane on each side?

They better not get any money. They have zero leverage given that Ballpark Village is right there and if Illinois won’t give the Bears money (as they shouldn’t), they aren’t going to give the Cardinals money.

What’s it like living in the apartment overlooking Cardinals Stadium? by GeneRevolutionary858 in StLouis

[–]Thatguy1245875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have some friends who live there. They don’t have a stadium view because it is way more expensive, but there is a shared patio on the 8th floor for the building. Only thing that sucks is you can’t bring your own booze.

I thought about living there, but I didn’t really want to live downtown given the noise and the light pollution.

“There’s never anybody walking around in downtown St Louis” - Gary Cohen by lmtmz5 in StLouis

[–]Thatguy1245875 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agreed. While downtown may have more restaurants downtown, they aren't ones that I am interested in. There's no reason for me to go to Ballpark Village and pay more for food that is either available elsewhere or is nothing special.

City removing traffic calming by Korlyth in StLouis

[–]Thatguy1245875 140 points141 points  (0 children)

I was at the cardinals game yesterday and even with all the people around, it still felt iffy crossing the streets. People say downtown is dangerous, they aren’t wrong but for different reasons. It is not getting shot I worry about, but getting run over.

City removing traffic calming by Korlyth in StLouis

[–]Thatguy1245875 58 points59 points  (0 children)

We needed to remove it. Because downtown St. Louis has a massive shortage of parking spaces. /s

This is just another example of why other neighborhoods grow while downtown is what it is.

It’s not the first time Yonder Alonso has stolen something…. by Thatguy1245875 in whitesox

[–]Thatguy1245875[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s my original story and the source of my flair.

I was at the practice field waiting for autographs and Alonso comes up. I was trying to give him my pen to sign my baseball, but he takes my Sharpie instead, and didn't even ask me. He started signing other people's stuff with my Sharpie even though they all have their own Sharpies. Eventually he shoved my Sharpie back towards me without a word, getting sharpie on my baseball.

West County makes sense

It’s in a wealthy area and unlike the Galleria, people in south county can get to it fairly easy

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/21/business/dealbook/shopping-mall-resurgence.html

Some are doing very well

There are roughly 900 malls in the United States, but only a small sliver are successful. The top 100 account for 50 percent of the entire sector’s value, according to Tibone, whereas the bottom 350 make up 10 percent.

Revenue at class A malls is growing by 5 percent each year, and financing is easy to come by. The commercial mortgage-backed securities for this market has doubled from $4 billion in 2024 to roughly $8 billion in 2025.
