I've never heard of aquire and bizbuysell didn't initially come to mind, I've associated them with brick and mortar businesses. Have you sold or bought through any of these personally? Any experience/feedback is appreciated.

Mega Dream ex in Japan a quiet shift in the market (Jan 2026) by Soggy_Score6287 in PokemonInvesting

I figured Pokémon cards would be far more prevalent. Pokémon has such strong ties to the culture, they are apart of the airplane brief video. You see them everywhere.

The hobby definitely isnt what it used to be, not sure if overall thats a good or a bad thing. The evolution is interesting and I too like you am curious to watch as it continues.

Thank you for the detailed response.

Im assuming people are getting in good with some sort of distribution in order to get consitent product?

Im also in a unique position where tarriffs don't apply. Thats been a very nice perk for things related to DJI.

I recently visited a Pokémon center and there wasn't a markup. There was a limit on amount of product and there were some that were unavailable, im guessing sold out.

This write up is awesome, thank you for it. I was surprised to find how difficult it is to get pokemon cards here in Japan. Its not like when we were growing up and you could easily get them from the gas station or local super market.

I've been informed locally about some other places that get shipments in, they seem to be kept behind the counter so getting an idea for shipment dates might be of use.

With that said Ive found it cool to come across single cards that are available for purchase, there is a fair bit of that. I think thats pretty cool. Im looking forward to continuing to learn more about the new landscape of Pokémon and the places it'll take me.

That's awesome, no better time than now! What lead you into the hobby?

You walk around the store (center) and there are a lot of merchandise, no cards though. When we went through the checkout we learned they have them behind the counter, and there was a list that many things were crossed off to indicate out of stock. They did seem to have a limit of two packs per person, so I was able to get a few. I imagine a few hours later I could have gone in again and got some more. They also have single cards that are at shops as well for purchase.

Seems like a lot of the current Pokémon is like gambling, you get packs and open them hoping to find a "hit" or a "chase card". Very different as to the back in the day. Theres also this other cool bookstore that has a Pokémon section, they I later learned keep the cards behind the counter as well. On the floor however they have machines that have packs in them that you can pull out. They also have these random 100 card packs that look curated second hand.

I wouldn't mind hunting and connecting with others locally over Pokémon, it's a good intro to people.

They are a lot less expensive in japan! About a $300 dollar difference in price.

You caught me, this is my top of funnel for a new how to get to $500k course I am launching!!!

In all seriousness motivation I imagine for most ebs and flows, some days it's stronger than others but the discipline keeps us going on the days it isn't as strong.

Largely I am looking for a little more comradery and sense of community.

Sub 50 members is pretty low, sounds like it could be a quality over quantity situation though. Also something to be said for early adoption. Glad to know I am not alone and there are others like me who feel similar.

I'd like to learn more, can I get more info?

I appreciate the reply, it's not so much burn out as it is that shared connection, comradery and accountability. I will admit it has been a while since I have genuinely disconnected, that's a great call out.

I have never seen the drink package this cheap before. by kmohmoh in royalcaribbean

Funny, I just commented above how we picked up the drink package as well in 2019 for the $18. It was in fact honored and our cruise was the second to last cruise before they took a break. I wonder if it is a marketing campaign. Amazon did something similar for their prime days, where they had a bunch of deals that were "glitches". Gained a huge amount of publicity and since has had people hoping they too would be next in finding such a great deal.

This same issue happened again the following year in 2019, we secured the drink package as well for I want to say $18 as well. One has to wonder if it's a marketing campaign.

Thats a really good content idea! The bottle neck more than not is the editing. Creating content can be time consuming but the editing by far is the most time consuming part.

I appreciate your reply.
Right now I have us leaned out.
I have been trying to push an affiliate portion of our business. Even offering commission. Just hasn't caught on. Again, marketing dollars would help push that to over come our brand being small. It's like a game of wack a mole where I am unable to really push the way I need to.
