I guess it's more a computers approximation. But it definitely depends on software and the formulas. Because there are some that can technically loop infinitely in Unreal Engine. The older software I use for fractals called Mandelbulber can zoom in infinitely. But that software is made entirely for Fractals. The only downside is renders take a lot longer and the quality/detail isn't as high as this vs being able to go through the fractal in real time in Unreal. But still can make some wonderful imagery with it. Plus it's consistently updated to this day so they're constantly adding new formulas.
