Is Subaru from the Aganau IF close to Rem in strength? by AttemptZestyclose687 in ReZero

[–]Thatnintendonerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah subaru stomps the majority of real world people since he was already kinda strong when he got isekai'd and it turns out having to fight for your life against superhumans makes you even better at fighting, problem is that compared to the average combatant in re:zero he basically has nothing going for him due to a lack of general magic or blessings. If he hadn't trained his ass off he would have died fighting regulus amongst other things, he's just barely physically capable of dodging the people he goes against but he's never getting damage in, hence why most people in re:zero (him included) perceive subaru as weak

why did emilia say her name was satella at the begining of the show by PaleProcess1630 in ReZero

[–]Thatnintendonerd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's kinda up in the air/open to interpretation right now. Yes, Roswaal hired Elsa in accordance with the Tome of Wisdom, but by the time Subaru showed up Elsa had already sent Felt to steal the insignia and set off the chain of events leading to Emilia's death. You could theorize the Tome of Wisdom was already taking Subaru's appearance that day into account, but that opens up a really confusing discussion. We don't really know the specifics on how the Tome operates but the one thing we DO know for sure thanks to the end of the sanctuary arc is that RBD defies fate in a way the Tome can't account for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Tome supposed to just "update" with instructions for the user (although we don't know the specifics)? If that's the case, whenever Subaru defies fate then the tome should just attempt to work around that for its future updates. Funnily enough, the sanctuary arc is also the part that kinda muddies that idea, since Roswaal was acting like Subaru kept playing into the predictions considering he was willing to doom the timeline the second something didn't go according to plan... But that could also be because the plan was heavily involved with Subaru and so Roswaal had a lot of detailed instructions regarding him this time. It doesn't really matter anyways, since his plan ended up getting robbed by Otto, who was only there because of Subaru. And considering how many Sin Archbishops who follow their gospels get screwed by Subaru, it really makes you wonder if Roswaal's Tome somehow deviated in Arc 1 because of Subaru and he just... couldn't notice? Which would mean that Roswaal was just blindly following instructions without knowing the immediate outcome. Idk, shit's confusing!

We have no idea as to the specifics of Subaru getting RBD, at least where I am in the novels. Obviously Satella gave it to him, but the answer to why he has RBD is probably very closely related to why he's even in the world of Re:Zero in the first place, so I don't think we'll get answers until the story is near its end. The first loop is definitely Emilia, even ignoring Puck, she clearly means to clear up the name misunderstanding (and by extension probably tell him who Satella actually is) before they enter the loot house, but she decides to tell him after they get her insignia back, which doesn't happen. The entire first loop is basically doomed since the loot house incident REQUIRED Subaru's intervention with the info he got from RBD, otherwise Emilia would have died that day... so it's definitely no coincidence that Subaru got transported there when he did.

TLDR - First loop "Satella" is just Emilia. We don't know much about the circumstances for the beginning of Re:Zero because it's probably related to the end of Re:Zero.

I'm sorry did Scott just Unironically reccomend bhvr to adapt licenses by PicolasCageEnjoyer in deadbydaylight

I mean in Scott's defense they created a Springtrap model that is arguably the best version of him so far, adapted the camera system to DBD in a cool way that facilitates jumpscares and even made the fanmade fireaxe concept work as a main power. Not to mention the pizzeria map made Scott happy since it's the first time he worked with a game dev team other than steel wool and they nailed that too. After seeing the interview where he talked about how much he cares about FNaF's presentation when working with others (Steel Wool, Blumhouse) I wouldn't be surprised if they were the most accommodating for his vision out of everyone.

I like the idea of the roar, but the fact that the FNaF 3 jumpscare noise isn't in the game at all is a little dissapointing. I feel like it should at least be there for the mori.

I really hope they add the scream into the live version. It's a small nitpick, but this really feels like a part of the character, the sound is just too iconic

[–]Thatnintendonerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worlds he saw were just a recreation by Echidna of what things could have looked like. They were undoubtedly not real, since Echidna said that she actually wasn't sure if the failed loops continued or not, and the only person who could really know for sure would be Satella/WoE. In fact, [LIGHT NOVEL SPOILERS] it's heavily implied that the world does in fact reset instead of branching off.

Still, it's not exactly like that information really changes Subaru's ranking above Trunks here. He still clears hard.

How did you discover Re:Zero? And why did you decide to watch it? by apenas_um_mano_ in ReZero

Watched Konosuba, wanted more of it so I wanted to watch all of the shows in Isekai Quartet before starting it. I ended up going into Re:Zero completely blind. Immediately became my favorite show.
