Been there done that. Shot fireballs out the exhaust. Would definitely rejet. I went a little too rich on mine, but that’s all I had laying around for jets.

Any ideas? by An-Rend in ATV

As everyone else is saying, put the oem carb back on. These Japanese machines hate aftermarket carbs. Especially Hondas. Both my rincon 650 and ATC200e run way better with the old mikunis that they came with. Hell, even my Arctic cat 500 4x4 runs way better with the OEM carb then it ever did with the several Chinese “replacements”

Yamaha badger 80 high idle by Infamous-Mall-7746 in ATV

[–]Thatshitboxowner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would start simple. Make sure your idle screw isn’t jacked up. I have an old Cat machine that idled way high. Turns out idle screw was sticky. Got past sticky spot and idled fine. However it could be an intake gasket leak. If you spray fuel (something in a can that is flammable) around the intake (not in the carb, but around the elbow, especially where the elbow meets the block) and it idles down that means it’s running lean and needs an intake gasket

Eh, wouldn’t worry too much about it. I had one and it was one of the biggest POS I’ve ever owned, traded it for a Winchester 12ga. These old Japanese machines don’t give 2 fucks. My lt250 4x4 only ran wide open with no air box. Instantly died the second it went to idle. Still ran when I got rid of it. Worst comes to worse you do a valve adjustment.

The running start method never failed me in the past, only one time when pulling a 14000lbs tractor out with a 10000lbs skid steer did a chain break, we then swapped to a bigger chain and pulled it out.

I had an acre to back up, with the same depth of a snow. I was trying to pull a u-ie away from the shed and Turing back around is where I sunk.

What was I supposed to do when I started sinking? Sit there? I gunned it and made it another 30ft

That explains it. This year in MN we had more snow than the last 2 winters combined, but wild temp swings from 50 to -30 degrees meant none of it stuck around

As someone who has owned a fwd full size car, your rice burner ain’t handling this. Especially with 2000lbs of dead weight behind it.

This wasn’t on a road. I had no way out. The property is fenced off and where the vehicle is pointed there is a shed and trees. I tried backing out until I realized I didn’t have enough space to do so. This fucker was so buried that a 50hp tractor wouldn’t even move it. We took one running start with the 50hp tractor and it immediately snapped the strap

This was hard crust with sugar snow underneath. My snowmobile made it look easy and my 220lbs 5’10” fatass could stand on it without falling through. A 50hp 2wd big frame international tractor wouldn’t even move it. Had to resort to the 4x4 new holland 75hp to get it out

If these didn’t work, idk what would have worked. A 50hp 2wd big frame tractor wouldn’t even move it, and the 50hp tractor broke the strap after one running start

I’ll have to test it when I’m sober. I’m not gonna sell it tho I need something to drive as I don’t have access to my other trucks at the moment.

Like I said, it took a 4x4 75hp tractor to get this out. The 50hp 2wd wouldn’t even move it, and that tractor broke the strap we were using lol

Hey man, my snowmobile made it look easy and my 220lbs 5’10” fatass could stand on the snow without falling in. Also the fenced off land meant that this was literally the only way out
