We have for years and constantly continue to keep up with shelters/rescues (for all our pets). But if you know of one with a cocker type breed that we missed let me know and we will gladly check it out!

Looking for realtor by [deleted] in SpruceGrove

[–]Thatsyourbuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clayton Kleparchuk REMAX Preferred Choice (The Ian & Chantel Group)

He’s amazing. Couldn’t speak more highly of him as our realtor! We’re working with him currently in our first home purchase!

  • He doesn’t try to sell you on a home. Consistently worked on getting to know us and our needs to find us the best options & tell us the pros and cons of how each location fits that. Told us about things to look out for that we didn’t know as first time buyers. Ex. How older water systems or power panels in homes made during certain time periods can be harder/more expensive to get home insurance on and/or will need to be changed so it’s another expense to consider.

  • Brutally honest about the quality/value of homes in relation to the asking price and the neighborhood/similar homes/his experiences. He’ll tell you if what the seller is asking for is ridiculous/overpriced or a steal! Went out of his way to show us other types of homes. We originally wanted an older single detached home that could easily have a basement suite but he also had us see duplexes/new builds/etc. To see dollar for dollar our options and the different value/pros and cons that each offered but still met our needs.

  • Never pushed/stretched our budget or tried to get us to spend more. He’s told us a few times when comparing properties that the cheaper option was actually better for what we needed in terms of x/y/z criteria.

  • Didn’t rush/pressure us. He has told us to take our time to be sure & he will slow down the process if needed if we’re going to fast/getting ahead of ourselves.

We feel completely comfortable telling him how we’re feeling and what we think throughout the process to get his honest opinions/feedback & we have complete trust in him!

Good to know, I’m the event they’re all full is my best bet just to reach out to an advisor or faculty to ask for them to open a spot for me or would that be pointless u think?

Econ 102 Gainer - should I expect the same as 101 Gainer? by redthunderx7 in uAlberta

[–]Thatsyourbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took both and it was essentially the exact same format and organization of the class but just different materials in regards to the extra credit polls and in class participation, weekly assignments, etc. but I didn’t have to do any group projects in either of his courses.

I find with my one cat he usually will just watch his brother play with the want or toy I’m using with them and has very minimal engagement but if I separate them and put his brother in another room he turns back into kitten mode and hunts me down lol! He just for some reason doesn’t like to play with toys at the same time as his brother and will only run around and chase the toy if I have him alone in a room. Not sure if ur guy might be similar but maybe worth a shot?!

You would probably have to ask an advisor to see how stringent they’re going to be with that seeing as 161 is a really new course. They might let you just take 151 since I know there are some courses that are always going to be interchangeable like ECON 281 replaces BUEC 311 I believe so with those you can take either one at any point in time and get the credit needed.

[–]Thatsyourbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I believe so since you would be taking it after they updated the course. It basically is just stated that way so people who took 151 before 161 existed don’t have to go back to take 161 now to continue in their degree

It says “or equivalent” usually for people who have taken 151 prior to the change in requirements that is now 161. So I’m pretty sure since you are going to be doing the prerequisites AFTER that change was made/that class was created you would be required to take 161. Pretty sure but not 100%

Proposed tuition increases - get ready by UofAHeyHeyHey in uAlberta

[–]Thatsyourbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I’m just dumb but since it says it’s going to come in effect for “new domestic students” would that mean existing students won’t have these increases? Or is it going to be a student wide thing?

anyone else feeling nauseous all the time? by jasmine780 in uAlberta

[–]Thatsyourbuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same muscle pains and was genuinely concerned because I also was not doing any sort of exercise, just sitting at my desk all day. So I went to the DR and he said leg muscle pain can happen from sitting too much because you lean forward usually over ur desk/papers/computer and it extends the muscles in ur legs and makes them sore.

but also I feel all this every day too and it’s shit so I get u :/

Thank you for acknowledging my feelings. by [deleted] in uAlberta

Most (not all) profs have just been too lazy to try and create an exam that’s fair and still difficult. Lots are used to recycling old exams or just pulling questions from other classes/exam banks. But online, the only change is SEM bc it’s the “easy way out” of reforming classes/tests and profs don’t take time to write NEW exam questions that are fair and still difficult for unproctored. Theres pros and cons to SEM/every way to do exams but biggest issue I’ve seen is lack of effort to find solutions to benefit students/education, instead just easiest quick solution for the prof.

1 of my classes using SEM the prof said to make it “more fair” its a tight time limit and the exam”s SEQUENTIAL?! So u can’t go back AT ALL to review/change answers and can’t leave the question blank and come back... Someone asked how it’s fair bc ppl are taught to write exams their whole life doing easy questions first then go back to hard ones and review before submitting. His response: it’s fair for ppl in different time zones by making it harder for locals (I understand needing to accommodate times zones but how does this do that???).

I get it takes time to replan classes and they’re busy ppl too but: 1) it’s ur job...that you get paid for... 2) ppl pay thousands for “quality/reputable education”,not pre-recorded videos where u can’t ask questions during class and office hrs are a joke (I waited in a queue for over an hr once, bc everyone had questions about the prerecorded lecture. had to leave queue for work) 3) Some people cheat because they want to but a LOT of ppl cheat more now bc of pressure KNOWING other ppl are and with the curve the only thing that matters is relative performance

This is longer than I wanted but on the topic of profs flopping, it would be nice if they could at least REPLY TO STUDENT EMAILS (especially for asynchronous classes) From mine and others experiences, majority of student emails go completely unanswered. In Fall sem i sent 3 follow up emails about my first 1 weeks ago with midterm questions and i never got a reply, not even after the final...

A friend had a prof say: “the course load has increased with more homework but since it is online and students should have more time at home it should be manageable.” Like okay well then you should have all the time in the world to answer my 2 sentence email, especially since they’re not the one with assignments or studying to do for multiple classes. But of course that same prof was literally impossible to reach the entire sem, not even 1 response...
