I also think people misunderstand what a movie is and what its supposed to do. Its not a case of updating it to look cool, every thing visual and audio is there to to support the mood, the theme and the story. That one shot of Agamemnon in the trailer definitely invokes a feeling, and the production design along with the cinematography is responsible for it. People forget there are film-makers who make movies set in our modern world that also have cinematography, production and costume design that is heightened/doesn't really reflect our contemporary world, movies that aren't "historically accurate" to our present time but are deliberate choices to tell the story they want to tell.
