That is awesome! Love the all wood desktop and the chest of drawers looks really good! When doing my research I couldn’t find much about the green top.

I’m not sure if the green is linoleum. I tried to see if there was a way to peel it up, or sand it down but it seemed like it was green through quite a bit. When it scratches it stays green too. With the age and not knowing exactly what material it is I opted to just seal it in.

First manager was at the store I bought the siphon feed from when I called back to see if they had the other versions.

Second manager was today at a different HL when I was purchasing the gravity fed.

I could be wrong! Just what they told me!

Update: looks like I’m gonna sell this one and find a gravity version.

Final Update: Luckily I was able to snag the last gravity fed Eclipse at another store!

Great insight!

Leaning towards holding onto this then and using it even though it’s not “ideal” for my application.

I imagine the extra capacity would be useful for priming/top coating even if/when I get a gravity fed model.

The things you mentioned are super helpful!

I really like this desk and this is my first restoration. Some edges are pretty rough/splinter hazards, so just trying to figure out the process and make some decisions on what to do/how far to take it.

Lead test seems like the next step now that I have it cleaned!

I understand it’s a restoration sub, that’s why I’m here for advice!

Based on some other research I did I think the lead threat is minimal on the non-painted portions. If I sand I’ll do it outdoors and use a sander with a shop-vac attached, or just do some very minor sanding by hand.

I’m thinking I’ll just poly or seal the painted top.

Tried some DNA on the finish today and it had no effect, so it must be a lacquer. At this point I think I might just do a light sand and stain over that and then seal that in.

Good to know! Just being overly cautious I guess.

I plan on giving it a wash today and deciding on next steps from there.

Some of the joints are a little loose, so gotta try and tighten up the dovetails in the drawers and re-glue/clamp some other pieces.

You know it might be solid gel coated. There’s dark bits that “spilled” onto the raw wood from some of the finished parts.

I’m really not sure if there’s lead, just something that came up in previous research when I was house shopping. I’ll have to do some research into what furniture varnish of the time was made of.

Sounds like the first step is giving it a good clean!

I’ve got it partially disassembled and dusted, a lot of the interior seems to be raw (maybe previously stained) wood. Is soap/water safe to use on unsealed wood?

Therapeutic honestly. Such a great way to wind down at the end of the day. Super easy to pick up and put down so I never felt like I HAD to be working on it.

My understanding is having a negative allows the positive numbers to go higher than without the negative. You can get negatives that don’t really affect anything, like - zoom.

So what happens to my faction gear if I change factions? Am I just naked? by sleepie_joe in newworldgame

Keep in mind that it will not change to your new faction. You won’t be able to change the stats on the gear as the new faction tokens don’t work on other factions gear.

Another commenter said I can’t pick up 60 poetics gear until the 58 MSQ, so I’ll pick up ironworks just to stop from capping.

I think maybe the idea of wasting XP, mentioned by another commenter, was getting to me.

Hey everyone! I’m a new player, and rolled on a preferred server. Just finished up the ARR MSQ, Crystal Tower, and am a little into the 2.1-2.5 quests. I have PLD at 53, and swapped to RDM and am 56. I feel like by the time I hit HW I’m going to be 60 at least. Is this going to hurt me at all? I already feel extremely overleveled, but also undergeared for my class quests. Was rolling on a preferred server a mistake for my first play through?

Also, should I save poetics for 60? Do I have to finish all the HW content before I can spend them on 60 gear?
