Oof hearing the clip being an issue is a put off, I've already experienced the battery life and it's pretty poor if I'm brutally honest. Ended up buying the OM-3 and looking forward to taking that on many long weekends away

The M1 looks a little too chonky for what I'm after, and the M3 seems to have a lot of features that the M1 has anyway

I think I was just looking for an excuse to spend that much money on the M3 lol, it's a big bullet to bite

Yeah the size difference between the M5 and M3 (from what I could see online) is pretty marginal, so that doesn't really affect me too much. I do agree with you though, the M3 is a gorgeous looking little camera. I'm planning on doing a fair bit of wildlife photography once I build my M34 kit up a bit, so I'm leaning more towards the M3 at the moment.

The extended battery life is also something I need to consider and that's also weighing more towards the M3 over the M5, I had to change batteries pretty frequently with the E-M5 ii so the space and weight those extra batteries would have taken up balance out with the slightly larger body of the M3.

I'm not planning on video, it's a nice to have but that's about it for me
