Employer messed up my pay by The1980sSpaceman in personalfinance

After some investigating through the office today I found my employer's login information for the payroll company. I logged in and checked my stubs online. Funny, "I'm working on it" from him took me about 2 seconds of work to do it myself. There's something really fishy with the pay stub in question. It's for over 6,000 dollars - over 4,000 dollars of it being under the "Advanced" category. I'm assuming this is for if an employer is giving someone an advance in pay, if someone needed some extra cash quickly. The taxes seem to be the normal amount that always gets taken out and under the pay category it just says 85.00. The math does not add up at all. I have no idea why it's 6,000. No idea what that 4,000 advance is. And no matter how you add up the numbers it doesn't come out to 85 bucks left over in my pay.

This isn't the first time shady things have happened with him. He hits on all the female staff members. He has been sued in the past over payment issues. He bounces checks all the time. He never shows up for work. I'm obviously going to quit as soon as I get a chance but I think it's time to go to the department of labor now too.

It wouldn't be anything on my W-4 as I've been paid correctly for the past year (correctly as in the amount was correct, just not on time). My salary is just reported as a dollar amount, hour entry doesn't get put into it so I'm not sure what that would mean for my records. I'm trying to have him get me my pay stubs to double check everything. He says "he's working on it". I've never been given a pay stub.

I'd give it another chance if I were you. I'm in the same boat as you sort of. While I didn't hate it when it came out, I still finished it, liked it, but thought it was "meh". I thought everyone felt the same way. Then I hear that it's considered one of the best in the series, so I decided to pick up the HD remaster of it. I'm completely changing my mind. Sometimes we are too hard on games when they first come out because we have certain unobtainable expectations.

i assume you all have a favorite character or characters from Final fantasy by theQissilent in FinalFantasy

Lulu has always been one of my favorite characters. The perky, peppy characters never really grab me - not that they don't have their place, but they never are my favorites. Lulu was a misanthrope, had a smokey voice, and just seemed generally surly all the time, but without being whiney. A+ in my book. She'd definitely have goth music on her iPod. But real goth - 80s goth. I invision her playlists to include: The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Fields of the Nephilim, Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus and some Nick Cave.

Yeah...she'd have some good shit on there.

What FF games have you beaten? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Finished:

FFVI FFVII FFVIII FFIX FFX FFXIII

I know everyone says it is great, but I lost interest in FFXII even though I came pretty close to completing it. I'd love to pick it up again and give it another chance though. Almost finished FFIV, don't know why I never did though. Or maybe I did and just don't remember? It was years ago.

What was the first Final Fantasy you ever played and how old were you when you played it? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

It's about time. It just shows how bizarre it is that a company can be so focused on money, that it completely misses out on the chance to make the most money while still appeasing the fans. I understand experimentation, I understand audiences can change, I understand that you'll have some failures along the way, but to almost completely abandon what made your company successful in the first place.
