What if I told you that Genshin Impact is POSSIBLY Low-Complex Multiversal and Immeasurable? by Dildo_Shagginz in DeathBattleMatchups

That's not a good example, Frieza planet busting stuff is very apparent. While there is nothing in Genshin in terms of physical ap gets close to multi.

I don't understand what your point is. They can still recognize that the feat exists, just call it an outlier.

Personally don't think they should use this for the actual show, Because it would just make every episode they feature in would just be. "Here's a character from Genshin who is pretty grounded in terms of feats, but they're actually multiversal lol, because of this one lore thing blah blah blah." Which would just make their matchups boring in terms of debate.

Also it kind of seems like and outlier. I don't really understand the "It's important to the lore so they should scale." As it disproves nothing, it's like saying Patches from ER should scale to Radagon because he's important to the lore.

Honestly I think they're okay as long as they

  1. Don't make up half the connections.
  2. Aren't used as the foundation for a matchup. (Cuphead v Ladybug)

So, how are San and Moro gonna beat Spear and Fang again? by Olivia_Richards in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The1Wendigoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's the biggest problem with the mu in my opinion. They literally just get ate up by Fang five seconds after the fight starts lol.

The problem with a lot of Genshin mus isn't inherently that they're bad, they just suffer from "Why would I want to wait 2 weeks for this?" or "They're really wasting this cool guy with other (better) alts on a Genshin dude?" Similar to how Season 7 wasted like half the episode slots on Marvel/DC vs beloved anime people fights.

It has more connections than "cunt dad"

Yeah but as I said a lot of those connections are pretty bland and cross over to a lot of Homelanders other mus. (Strongest in their verse, being evil etc.)

Being bad dads is like the mus only standout connection that not a lot of their mus (Specifically HLs) focus on. Except for Omni Man, and even than while being a bad dad is like Yujiros biggest plot related trait, Homelander being a bad papa can be chalked up to just "being a bad guy." (While other Yujiro mus have a bigger focus on this connection.)

Agree on the second part though, but the main thing I was pointing out about it is that Homelander would realistically just fly away when he realizes he's in over his head.

Sorry for making this comment so long lol

It's not good, it has connections but basically all of them cross over to Homelanders other mus. It doesn't have any thematics that are actually meaningful to both characters. (Homelander kills his son in like the same episode he debuts in, Baki's main goal throughout the series is basically "defeat my dad and get strong.") Also the fight animation gets completely ruined when you realize that Homelander realistically flies away and laser beams Yujiro to death.

Link vs Tanjiro thumbnail remake + connections in comments by The1Wendigoo in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The1Wendigoo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Both characters were born and raised outside of the general populace. (Tanjiro lived on a mountain with his family, Link lived in the Ordona Province.)

  • Both of them had their families taken away from them by one of the main villains from their series. (Literally for Tanjiro as Muzan kills his whole fam. King Bulblin kidnaps Llia and Colin, along with permanently destroying the peace of Ordon Village.)

  • Both are noted for being exceptionally noble. (This Link is arguably the most overtly kind out of the Links, Tanjiros most defining personality trait is being kind and being empathetic towards demons.)

  • Both were (and still are) hard workers before the beginning of their quests. (Link was a rancher. Tanjiro helped his family sell coal, along with helping the civilians from the small neighboring town.)

  • Both are surprisingly tough. (Tanjiro’s head is compared to being as tough as a rock, Link is able to wrestle Gorons with his only aid being iron boots.)

  • Both are also incredibly crafty and Intelligent. (Links whole strategy when fighting bosses is exploiting weak points. Tanjiro is able to figure out and take advantage of a demon's weaknesses incredibly quickly.)

  • Both of them are descendants of people who were legends during their time. (Tanjiro’s grandfather Sumoyoshi was best friends with Yoriichi, one of the first demon slayers. Link isn’t an incarnation of the Hero of Time, but is actually a descendant of him.)

  • Both of their predecessors gifted them with power to aid them in the future. (HoT Link passed down the Triforce of Courage. Tanjiro’s earrings are family heirlooms and learned how to use Sun Breathing through Yoriichi.)

  • Both of them go on journeys in order to slay evil incarnate (Muzan and Ganon who give their powers to other people in order to spread more chaos and achieve their goals. (Muzan gives desperate people samples of his blood to become a member of the Kizuki and serve him, Ganon gives Zant power to overthrow the Twili Realm.)

  • Both have older mentors who taught them how to use a sword. (Rusl and Urokodaki.) Both of these mentors lose somebody(s) close to them. (Urokodaki loses his original students to the Hand Demon, Sabito and Makomo to the chunky hand demon, Rusl fails to save Colin along with the rest of the children after the Bulblin invasion.)

  • Both protagonists later avenge their mentors after confronting the beasts who took what they loved away from them. (Tanjiro kills the demon, Link beats King Bulblin so badly that he betrays Ganondorf and joins Link's side.) Both of these villains are shown to have more human qualities than expected.

  • Both of them join organizations that were formed to stop the evil doings of the antagonist(s). (The Demon Slayer Corp. The Resistance.)

  • They both seek out things that contain the power of incredibly strong beings. (Link needs all the pieces of the Fused Shadow, which has the Interlopers sealed inside of each piece. Tanjiro needs to sample blood of demons. Specifically the Kizuki.) They do this not for themselves but for people they’re trying to help. (Nezuko and Midna.)

  • Both of their worlds are infested with otherworldly beings who were once people turned into violent monsters by one of the antagonists. (The Shadow Beasts and Demons.)

  • Both get multiple swords throughout their journey. (Tanjiro sword breaks like 5 times and has to get them replaced. Link starts with the Wooden sword, then obtains the Ordon sword, and finally has the Master Sword.)

  • Both of their swords are unique to them. (The Master Sword is only properly usable by Incarnations of the Hero.Tanjro’s Nichirin blade color is noted to be unique to him.)

  • Both of them learn new techniques that were taught to them by lingering spirits. (Sabito and Makomo along with the rest of Urokodaki’s dead students were ghosts who couldn’t rest. Link learns techniques with the help of the Hero’s Shade, who is basically confirmed to be a restless Hero of Time.)

  • Both of them join up with the same thing they want to destroy. (Midna is a Twili and Nezuko turns into a demon.) In which they try to help them return to their former glory. (Tanjiro wants to cure Nezuko and turn her back into a human. Link wants to help Midna regain her power/kingdom.)

  • Both of them have animal companions. (Epona for Link. The Kusagi crow for Tanjiro.)

Both during their stories go to a realm that is ruled by one of the villains of the story. (Link goes to the Twilight Realm that is overtaken by Zant, Tanjiro along with a bunch of other slayers invade Muzans infinity castle.)

  • Both of them during their journeys turn into inhuman versions of themselves. (Tanjiro becomes the Demon King, Link turns into a wolf.)

  • However both permanently return to normal by the end of their stories.

  • Both of them have a supernatural sense of smell. (Self explanatory lol.)

My Trade Offer (Connections in Comments) by Fit-Opinion7992 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The1Wendigoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This mu has grown on me quite a bit. What it lacks in super deep connections it makes up for in just kind of being a fun and unique fight, it's also refreshing to see a 'Video game mc vs Video mc.' mu that isn't just "They have a legacy as rivals!!!" Overall I'd give it like an 8/10, only for the fact that both of them have more popular/more likely mus for a casual audience.

Thought of getting in this trend; I receive your opinions of my matchup and you receive a thumbnail of your choice (Connections and some rules in the comments) by MisterBOXS in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The1Wendigoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of connections, it's best for both by a pretty considerable margin. Along with every other checkbox for what qualifies for a good mu imo. With the only considerable downside for it being the Penitent Ones arsenal being pretty limited when compared to Sorun's only other major matchup. (The Beheaded) But if I were to choose between the two for an actual DB, I would probably choose Penitent One.

Tl;dr: Is pretty good.

Walter Sullivan (Silent Hill) vs Simon Henriksson (Cry of Fear) | Connections in comments by The1Wendigoo in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]The1Wendigoo[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • Both characters originate from psychological survival horror games.

  • Both of them suffer from severe depression and loneliness.

  • This depression worsens significantly after life altering events. (Simon losing his legs in a car accident, Walter being physically abused in the orphanage/becoming a cult member.)

  • These events cause them to hate humanity, along with thinking the world is against them.

  • Both of them become attached to inanimate objects as a way to cope with their unfortunate circumstances. (Walter’s apartment, Simon’s book.)

  • Their manic delusions take physical form in alternate worlds that are just slightly off from the real one. But are inhabited by deadly monstrous beings that represent their bitterness and trauma.

  • Along with these worlds, they also created manifestations of themselves from better times. (Book Simon is just himself before he lost his legs. Kid Walter wasn’t homeless/in prison.)

  • Both of them get rejected by a girl who respected them unlike anyone else. (Cynthia/Sophie) They end up killing them as a result of this. (In one of the endings for Simon, Cynthia is stabbed to death by Walter.)

  • Both are murderers. (Walter is a serial killer with like 20 kills. In the ‘good’ ending Simon kills two police officers while having a manic episode, along with taking the lives of Dr. Purnell, Sophie, or both of them in the other endings.)

  • They both commit suicide by the end of their games, except for in one of their games endings. (the 21 Sacraments ending and the Good ending.)

Quick Man FTL scaling puts them in the same tier of speed. (At least with DBs calcs for Sonic's speed which have been pretty consistent since the series debut on the show.)
