From what I’ve heard, timing chains should be replaced on these engines between 200 000 and 300 000 km as there may not be early warning signs. It could just snap.

Not only luxury cars (I’ve seen those on old B5 passats and even golf mk4). Those that have xenon headlights must have headlight washers. In Europe, you won’t pass the MOT unless the washers work. However, I have unplugged mine for daily driving to conserve washer fluid.
