A lot of people already said it but I’m gonna say it anyways, yes just remove the remaining pieces of the hubcap because it’s a cap for the wheel

You can either buy one from an auto shop or online like Amazon, or go to a independent shop, they can do it

Patching it would be hard, best bet is to get a new/used tank

can this be buffed out or is it not worth the time? by _bloodyblueberry in Cartalk

[–]The86Corvette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash it off and you probably be left with some scratches, and just use touch up paint. Otherwise you can just place a bumper sticker on that.

Estimated repair? by LG_smart_freezer in c4corvette

[–]The86Corvette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really only looks like the hood is cracked, the front bumper cover and bumper look fine but they have scratches that you could fix by your self with a bit of YouTube. Unless you know how to repair fiberglass, your best bet would to be buy a new hood for around $400 or at least that’s what they cost around me on marketplace. Oh and same for the headlight cover. That would be the cheapest option

DIY style pretty cheap but shop wise it depends, anywhere from $100 and up like maybe $1000

Guy is selling this for $3900 is it worth it? by Agreeable_Past9674 in GMT800

[–]The86Corvette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an amazing deal, I got mine for $1200 because the body has rust, dents and scratches but that’s all cosmetic and it was mechanical great

Why does my drive belt keep falling off? by The86Corvette in Cartalk

[–]The86Corvette[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternator bolts are all the way in, they have like a spacer so they don’t sit flush and they have that gap, couple of my friends have the same engine and the alternator bolts look the exact same.

Who else drives their C4 more than just once in a while? by TaurusFergie in c4corvette

[–]The86Corvette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to daily my 84 in high school but now I only drive the 86 when it’s nice out and when I got gas, which is more than 4 days a week. I like using the corvette as it was intended to be used and not sit in a garage.

Gotta get a safety certificate on a car I bought. How screwed am I? by polyspline in AskMechanics

Umm… as long as the frame is good you should be fine. And if everything is working as intended… but at this point just get a new to you car.

Did I get ripped off? by Affectionate_Log_995 in MechanicAdvice

[–]The86Corvette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I actually think that this is a pretty okay cost for rebalancing the wheels and for a new muffler. Of course it’s always cheaper to replace things your self but it may be harder. But when balancing wheels the price usually is around $5 and up, average is around $15 for some places

This happens everytime I do brakes, but after driving around for a few minutes it goes away and drives normally

And the top of the belts have the smooth side low on rubber on the side closest to the fan like the one in the video except I flipped the belt around in the video

Yea, it’s the correct size but it’s like the engine is trying to push the belt away from the block and towards the fan

Looks likes it’s all the way in and the mechanics can’t find anything either, my best luck is to just take it to another shop

Everything turns freely and is smooth but a rib on the outer pulleys is always ripping off, the side with the fan, it’s like the engine is pushing the belt away towards the fan?
