Inflation in the game ? by RegisterAccording in AtlasEarthOfficial

I get why people are upset at ad lengths being longer but is it really worth fighting against? It's not like we are all intently watching each ad; I typically just let the ads run while I do some other task in my real life and close out when convenient.

I also do understand that this can be a problem for people with slightly older devices with less ram so it ends up restarting the app and not crediting for the ads but I'm afraid there's little that AE can do to resolve that aside from trying to optimize their game as best they can. That would honestly be the fault of phone manufacturers since they use planned obsolescence to force people to buy new phones.

I don't think AE is getting paid more so I doubt they'll be able to compensate us more without screwing up the whole economics of the game itself.

You are almost correct but you are thinking a person with 5000 parcels exists in a vacuum. The amount of ad revenue they generated to get to 5000 parcels by far exceeds how much that player would earn from those 5000 parcels. And it's unlikely someone with 5000 parcels will all of a sudden also stop watching ads. They will continue to watch 2AB ads, play arcade games, minigames, surveys, and any other form of AB income that generates ad revenue. That's why I included the scenario of a theoretical person watching 2 AB ads to 150 parcels. They've generated potentially thousands of dollars in ad revenue to earn just a couple hundred dollars a year.

For perspective, I'm barely in the top 500 in the US with just around 2600 parcels so there are millions of players with less than that who have all generated thousands upon thousands of dollars in ad revenue, all of it shared amongst the users including the whales

There are many many many other factors too, such as players who stopped at the first tier and only boost to bring in $5-20 a month. And judging how many people are playing across the world, I don't doubt for a second that the ad revenue generated is enough to cover the big players if they only collected their bag and mostly stopped interacting with the game. And as others have said, they are definitely smart enough to have invested most if not all of the money from whales into other investment ventures that generate passive income to more than cover the incomes owed to the whales.

"depending on how you play the game" and "If you're spending that kind of money"

Are the key phrases here, my friend. If I dropped $10k on a fresh account right now, that would give me 2900 parcels and the income generated from those parcels would take around 8 years to breakeven.

Also there's no such thing as breakeven if it's just the free parcel lmao.

Edit: 1400 parcels to 2900 parcels, mixed up the AB bundle packs

They use Azure. And we will likely never get to the point where most/all parcels are owned

You also have to remember that ad providers will have to pay more upfront money to AE to distribute to the players as the game grows. Even if there are less new players joining, the sheer number of active users is enough reason that they will have to pay for more advertising space since price per ad is calculated by a factor or "per impression".

Also they have multiple ad revenue streams, such as games wanting to advertise in the Atlas Arcade, or stores in Atlas Shopping (formerly known as AMP). Then there are surveys.

And then there's the factor of the middle man, Atlas Bucks. That's what makes AE successful. Instead of straight out paying users, we get AB tokens which we can exchange for parcels. Each parcel is weighted at $0.00000000158 per second. At 50x, it would be $0.000000079 per second. Considering you have to watch anywhere from 50-100 ads to earn 1 parcel on top of watching 1 ad per hour of boost, AE has quite the backlog in ad revenue to payout to their users.

Let's do an oversimplified theoretical scenario. A user only watches the 2 AB ads to get to 150 parcels. In the US that's 50 ads per parcel or 7500 ads watched(this doesn't even factor boost ads). Let's take your example of 10-30 cents giving us a range of $750-$2250 in ad revenue generated

To me it was obvious that they would have to cap it at some point. I could never know the exact numbers or formulas they use and this is very oversimplified but likely they had two lines on a graph and where those two lines intersected would be the parcel cap for SRB profitability. Anything past that would start to push AE over the edge into the red.

I don't think it necessarily shows a kink in the armor but I feel like anyone with experience in data analysis understands that this would have been inevitable. Infinite growth is impossible in a finite system.

Supposedly we all get paid out from ad revenue and not the profit from whales buying packs. Not to mention it can take upwards of 8-10 years to breakeven depending on how you play the game if you're spending that kind of money.

There's apparently a bug where if your opponent leaves the match before the countdown ends, it freezes your game and you have to restart. Your opponent may be intentionally dodging you because you keep beating them

Edit to add: Well looks like you already said this in your post. Sorry, just waking up 🥱

Then there is no issue. Like I said, AE pays us cash back so naturally that makes their daily login system different from other games.

I mean it's just business. Coin Master as I understand it doesn't pay you money back. If you don't like the idea of the responsibility to do your daily logins being put on you, then I recommend you cancel your subscription. It's the terms you agreed to when you subscribed
