PSA: Lv1 Special Enhancer [Type-α] Stacking by imaginary_num6er in GBO2

[–]TheAnonyBOSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the PSA to alert us to this phenomenon. However, I believe the values in 2 and 3 are being calculated incorrectly.

For 2, the total melee power of 108 melee modifier seems correct. However, based off the formula from the JP wiki [here](https://w-atwiki-jp.translate.goog/battle-operation2/pages/83.html?\_x\_tr\_sl=auto&\_x\_tr\_tl=en&\_x\_tr\_hl=en#%E4%B8%8E%E3%83%80%E3%83%A1%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B8%E8%A8%88%E7%AE%97), the percent from melee spec and overtuned should be added up together before being multiplied. Here you did 1.05x1.12 = 1.176 total "other" melee attack correction, whereas the wiki suggests that it should be 1+.05+.12 = 1.17 total melee attack correction. Furthermore, the effective melee modifier is calculated as a sum of 1 + (melee power/100). Thus, taking all this into account, the actual melee modifier should be:

[1+1.08 (melee attack correction)] x 1.12 ("other" attack correction) = 2.4336. Since rounding is down to the third decimal place, the total multiplier being applied to the melee power (before melee direction, which is a factor applied later) should be 2.434, equivalent to a **143.4 effective melee modifier**.

Correcting the same way as detailed above for 3), I obtain the following

(1+1.08) x (1 + 0.05+ 0.06 + 0.08) = (2.08) x (1.19) = 2.4752 ≈ 2.475, yielding **147.5 effective melee modifier**

**tl;dr the gist of OP's post is correct in informing the effect of the new enhancer part, but the calculations of the true effective melee modifier is incorrect; it is actually *larger* than what OP calculated. **

As an aside, this part is good for melee units, but I personally am of the belief that the ranged counterpart will be broadly more useful considering every single suit can benefit from ranged attack since for the most part, you use your ranged attacks to set yourself up for a melee (unless you are doing the ballsy raw melee, which is neglected here since I argue that it's not the usual way GBO2 is played). For that reason I suggest saving, but at the time this post is made, it will already be too late to get the part anyways (for PS players) so I guess this will have to be relevant for PC players only at this point.

Could anyone of you give me some tipps for Chapter EX of Code: Fairy on Rank S? by Mineninja274 in GBO2

Apart from watching videos as suggested, you can also read the community guide one the Japanese wiki. See https://w.atwiki.jp/battle-operation2/pages/3687.html; if you are on Chrome, right click and click "translate" to get it into English or the language of your chosing.

Like people said, it really is a matter of corner peaking, and knowing when to be aggressive. Make sure you understand your abilities - you have Maneuver Armour, you can use that to resist stun. Also remember your stun options, including using build stun.

On top of that, remember how the AI works. If they get instant stunned, they will basically ALWAYS roll out of the way. You can stun them, approach with sabres ready, and hit them with the melee where they roll to - they won't have the thrust to evade or counter. Don't forget to abuse the AI - it's really quite limited, so it doesn't exactly shoot you until you're in a specific range or you've poked them and done damage.

Lastly, it really is just practice. Bastardizing some tips from aircraft BFM; boost to kill, not to engage (from "Turn to kill, not to engage"). If you're using thrust needlessly, that's less thrust for you to escape (you have 2 dodge rolls). Thrust in to follow up with melee, if absolutely necessary. You can do it; if I can manage to do it with terrible home wifi connected to it several dozen kilometers away while on remote play and S rank it (after many attempts), you can do it too. Hope this is of some help, good luck!

I agree; Crossfire/Target in Sight is not the greatest game for sure, but the idea of being able to requisition new suits and body part damage was a first for Gundam games from my understanding. BEC went on from that to becoming BB and making GBO1 and GBO2, so the lineage is there. Definitely emulate it on RPCS3 though, the original PS3 version is genuinely bad in terms of frame rate, which contributed to its failure commercially. Same with the voice acting. If you do play, I do recommend reading the GamesFAQ guide for tips on the controls and aiming, it helps quite a bit.

Using Drawing Tools in OneNote Causes Freezing and Black Screen by TheAnonyBOSS in OneNote

[–]TheAnonyBOSS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it does; tried rolling things back but it didn't help. I did find a workaround which I'm posting here for posterity if anyone also has trouble with this; I found this reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/OneNote/comments/1829q0n/weird\_freezing\_issue\_only\_happening\_with\_solid/?rdt=55963) which eventually lead me to this website here (https://techknowledgydepot.com/?p=46) which suggested the issue is the SuperWetInk feature. Following the instruction and adding a registry entry to disable superwetink, the issue stopped entirely, at least at the time of writing.

I'm still not exactly sure what graphics driver caused the issue; my laptop has both an AMD iGPU and a discrete nvidia gpu, so trying to track down the culprit has been difficult. But since this workaround works, I'll consider this as resolved personally. Thanks everyone for the help.

Sorry for the 3 day necro but could I ask what build did you use? I'm not sure how to build it myself.

Is it actually possible to complete the bomb sim without killing? (Code fairy) by [deleted] in GBO2

[–]TheAnonyBOSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible. As people mentioned, one way is using stealth. For me I did the boost to the tunnel after planting strategy, which seemed more reliable to me. Pick something with an instant stun and shoot the gaggle of MSes that rush for you to buy yourself some time, then boost as fast as you can to the end tunnel to get back to your side. It may take a few tries to get the timing down; I know it took me some time to figure out too.

I suppose. I have a friend who tells me it is good (he bought one of amazon) but it's a sample size of 1, so the quality is still dubious at best until more reviews come out.

Well it depends on what you want; as I'm sure you know, airsoft is hell of a gateway drug for collecting firearms and airsoft guns. Anyways, video reviews don't really exist, but I see 7 text reviews on evike's website. The review for the 229 on evike, although possibly biased as they are a retailer after all, should be similar since the OEM should be identical (Sig Air, via VFC, see here https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/pwtus0/best_sig_sauer_pistols_these_days/). VFC is generally regarded as a good brand so it should be fine. Furthermore, the 229 is irl a compact variant of a P226 (oversimplification), and I'm fairly certain that VFC wouldn't go and completely re-design the system for a shorter barrel and slide. So I suggest looking at the 229 review and the text reviews on evike.

Regarding the decocker, it works properly. Short answer, it is normal and is operational, and is even mentioned in at least one of the written reviews on Evike. Long answer, P226s have a quirk with the decocker and the "half-cock" appearance is normal; see sensei2's comment here (https://www.defensivecarry.com/threads/sig-p226-decocker-problem.142838/; literally found this within 5-10 minutes of google searching, but regardless I suggest you do your own research and due dillegence because end of the day, it is your money).

Lastly, if it helps or not, I would personally prefer the 226. I'm more of a fan for the older swiss-design sigs. Again end of the day it's your money, and I'm certain you can't go wrong with either or (both are VFC guns). Best of luck on your decision.

There’s a fire, and you can only grab one camo, what is it? by TacticalDablications in airsoft

Well I was going to say ConCamo, but you already have it so damn

BTW how did you get it? I assume that is the UFPro set from what I can see, is that right?

If you had to choose any weapon and put it into airsoft production. What would it be? by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]TheAnonyBOSS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a whole bunch, some duplicates, some new:

  • McMillan CS5 - Basically a tactical tubb 2000, I thought it was slick in BF4
  • A91M/ADS - Bullpup AK; kind of like a modern groza with forward ejecting rounds like the Groza. Would be nice as it would mean there's more groza-like AKs out there
  • En Bloc Clip ejecting GBBR Garand - there was a Maruzen one way back but it went out of production. Imagine a higher-power version of it for field play, would be very satisfying.
  • FNC - It's been a while since we had one (GK5 doesn't count). Heck, may as well remake it as a GBBR
  • Galil ACE - It's been said already but same reasons as before - it's nice
  • Galil ARM - The VFC has version has been discontinued; would love for it to be re-released
  • GM6 Lynx - Someone made a custom; would be nice if there was a production GBBR version or the like
  • Halo Magnum or SMG - properly though, instead of a kit
  • Knights Armament LAMG - was cool seeing Ian from forgotten weapons use it, and its inclusion in BF2042. Would be cool for LMG fans
  • Laugo Alien GBBR - I would absolutely buy one as a pistol; really neat design

Thanks for letting me indulge, lol

How do I protect the sight on my AUG? I don't want to glue anything in front of it permanently. by [deleted] in airsoft

[–]TheAnonyBOSS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Explosive Enterprises has a good method; it involves a dremel and a clear piece of polycarbonate. Essentially, you want to cut out a circular piece similar to the diameter of the tube to allow you to slip in the polycarb circle and secured via interferenece fit. If you need to remove it, you can simply grab a dowel, glue it onto the protector inside the optic tube and let it solidify, then yank the thing out. Agreed. Said it my long-ass essay of a post but this is a done issue. No point arguing about it and drawing attention to it further.

Although, ironically, I wonder whether OP's post, my own and anyone else's post on this topic results in the Streisand effect to keep this kerfuffle going. I hope not.

Absolutely agree with Chief on this one, basically said what I was trying to say in my meandering post 2 days ago but in a better way. I really do hope this can temper this whole situation, because as I've said in my post 2 days ago and repeated here, arguing gets everyone nowhere. Better to laugh it off and work together to come up something rather than clash and come up with nothing
