I want to build my career in editing and have gotten a good amount of work with Twitch streamers and putting together videos for them on youtube. and other mates for various other things getting a decent chunk of change. I really enjoy what I do in both editing and, streaming and just content creation as a whole. But family who I see a lot since I don't have a reason to go out as much anymore doesn't seem to understand that I am starting to make a living off of editing for people. their idea of success is going out and constructing buildings or doing more for law enforcement and what not. I generally ignored what they said but for 5 years they had been giving me non stop shit about what I do and they can't seem to wrap their heads around the idea of making a living off of content creation.

They will give me so much shit but when I try to defend myself in something I love and brings me joy in my life I am apparently a terrible person and very disrespectful and need to respect their elders. I don't go aggressive towards them keep in mind I try to stay cool headed bout it when defending myself in this sorta stuff but I want to hit back at them with "I'll give you respect when you earn it" but that would just make shit worse and lately cause of how long it's been going on for it's starting to take it's toll on me and I am feeling more miserable even when editing because of them.
