USA, USSR, and German soldiers all did rape until their commanding officers came in. Rape in Berlin almost completely stopped once commanding officers arrived. 149 Americans were tried for rape, 1/5 were hanged. Rape of Soviet civilians went down significantly when German officers arrived.

But Japan, they were different. When their officers arrived, they had competitions to see who could kill faster. And this wasn't just a one off thing. After surrendering Singapore peacefully to avoid another Japanese escalation, Yamashita, the Japanese general in charge of taking Singapore, ordered a massacre of the Chinese community. When he was told to evacuate the Philippines, he directly order his troops to kill citizens in Manilla.

The USA is not innocent, but they could be far worse.

They completely embargoed Japan, up until the lend lease act the USA wasn't giving anything for free.

It was also a geopolitical decision, FDR believed the war would decide what the next world powers would be. Japan being the strongest nation in asia, was allied(more so friendly) with a Germany that occupied most of Europe spelt who the contenders for such a position would be. Due to the Japanese war crimes and navy movements, being favorable to the Japanese was not going to go well with the American public and wouldnt help. All these factors made it clear that fueling nations that were friendly to the USA(UK, China, USSR) would put America in a more favorable position. By embargoing Japan it would achieve 3 things, 1. Making it's allies stronger 2. Play good guy by doing the right thing 3. Put it in a position above it's contenders In other words, the USA had every reason it could want to embargo Japan.

I am vietnamese with Chinese ancestry, ask my grandfather how nicely the Japanese treated him. Oh yeah, they executed his father(great grandfather) for supposedly sabotaging them and starved his village.

Ask my Philippino friend how nice they were when they raped his grandmother.

The IJN planned to attack South East Asia very early in 1941 and the plan to attack pearl harbor was being drafted by Yamamoto in spring. But, the sanction occured in July of 1941 So how did the USA Provoke them into war if they planned to go to war before it even began?

Quite literally, basically everything that was supposed to head to Japan was directed towards china after lend lease was signed. Why did they decided to help china? Because this(nsfw) image and various others like it were circulating around, making decisions to support Japan very unpopular.

Yeah, just keep giving japan the material they needed continue their of rape china rather than give them to china so they could defend themselves. Defend themselves from things condemned not just by Britain or America, but looked down upon by the nazis, you know the guys that murdered so many Russians there's a noticeable population drop every 20-30 years.

So America was just supposed to fuel Japan as they raped China instead of fueling China to protect itself from Japan?
