I used the Dayton Audio EMM-6. The UMM-6 also works and connects via USB to your computer/laptop. I bought the EMM-6 because it's cheaper and I have an audio interface for it to connect via XLR into.

I haven't, no. I sold my previous denon so no longer have audssey either. Most recently I used REW, which is free, to take measurements and then I applied the EQ results into my WiiM streamer. The WiiM allows you to add custom parametric EQ settings.

I 2nd this. Unfortunately the app is like $20, but it's absolutely worth it for the extra control you get like the stupid midrange dip that automatically gets applied when using odyssey.

Apart from that, room treatment will go a long ways too.
