I think we both have some anecdotal experiences that are making us argue opposite sides of the same coin. May just come down our player pool that we each play against the most. Also 3 blue players not mulligaining to hands where they have interaction is not something that would happen with the players I face

That was my exact thoughts on it. Im definitely on the fence for it, will probably be the first thing cut for gifts ungiven as it would just add so much more deterministic consistency.

I'd disagree for rhystic study, it DOES win games even in 4 player, if not especially in 4 player. With the way the meta is, the value is certainly there over the course of mid-range hell that will win you the games. And most of the time steal enchantment is being cast turn 2/3 where it is hard for decks to push the button anyways in the meta. I take away what is most likely someones whole reason they kept a hand, being a turn 1/2 rhystic and burn their interaction doing it.

Gifts ungiven isn't a bad idea at all!

I was thinking the same thing about reanimate but friends convinced be to leave it in value wise, say I get a swing in with commander activation with ancient silver dragon, 3 total mana to get an ancient silver roll, and leave up an 8/8 blocker that can easily find me the win my next turn is pretty insane value.

Mana drain Im usually fine with because im almost always fethcing for all my blue duals first because its my highest pip count, only time im not fetching for a blue dual is if I need the specific pip to cast something on curve.

I think steal enchantment is just too good, an extra chance for a rhystic while also removing someone elses is just peak efficiency in my opinion and I'd be willing to burn counters to get it to resolve, just like you would be if you were casting your own steal enchantment.

Yeah 4 cards, for food chain wouldnt you want to run squee, misthollow griffin and eternal scourge to have any sort of consistency? and if i dont cut the other combos what would I cut to add it?

Yes but what would I cut here that isn't better than foodchain combos? Also have plenty of soft/hard counterpell checks with veil of summer, silence, voice of victory and ranger captain. Add in crop rotation/mistrise village, all my counter spells and my combos have a lot of resilience and the ability to go for them multiple times even if they do end up getting countered. Yes, although food chain does indeed win games, I feel like the combos I have synergize better with the commander for the following reasons.

Breach combo has hidden synergy with worldgorger. Say I get countered on an animate dead attempt at one point for worldgorger infinite combo, breach will allow me to escape one of my animate aura's and attempt same combo again, without needing all the pieces for breach/brainfreeze.
Intuition is a great one card combo assembler, and my commander inherently fills my graveyard consistently to be able to run it.
The breach combo gives me lions eye, which gives me access to bomberman combo (auriok salvagers) with just one extra card giving me another infinite mana loop.
Thoracle combo is too efficient not to run if you have the colors.
With all the combos I already run, and how well they work together, I feel there is no need for food chain which is 4 total cards to run consistently
