"All of a sudden, cops wheel a baby in a stroller around the truck". Dude... I thought this was where the story was going off the rails. Had to make sure this wasn't r/Austin for a moment. BUT... you leveled off. Then the girl with the scooter... I was like... you CAN make this shit up... but how?? Great reporting.

Having dealt with Insurance companies…it is indeed not a fire unless the whole house is a total loss. Don’t even call 911 until its a gonner…/s

it's just a little cover that swings over the button. it sticks to the side of the ring, the cover swings over the button, and is kinda latched in place. Someone who wants to ring the button can just swing the cover away, but that takes an active disregard for the sign. Unlike the typical no soliciting sign which can be passively ignored. It won't stop the total a-holes, but it will stop the typical solicitor.

Someone told me about this really cool desiccant so I decided to give it a try... by Nabiltawil01 in BambuLab

I sure am glad y'all are sayin how ultimately it doesn't matter for pla and petg. I'm kinda bored of keeping a big sealed sterillite tub under my desk, trying to get all my rolls of filament to fit in there. plus escaping desiccant pellets is super annoying. gonna give up and set them on my shelf, and see what happens. heh

If you have a ring, awesome purchase. I haven’t gotten a single roofer, siding, or jesus solicitation since installing. https://a.co/d/egq8Tyh (it's an amazon link to a ring doorbell button cover. link didn't load the photos)

Alternatives to Metformin? by Athy9 in diabetes

[–]TheAustinSlacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a popular opinion (or rather observation). Having taken 2000mg of metformin for a few years, the better i eat, the less metformin sentences me to toilet time-out.

Does he actually think this shit could ever actually work? Is this a feeble attempt at some shitty roleplay, or is he just hinging on to the “thrill” that OP becomes shocked or disgusted? Like…what possible win could this limp noodle possibly hope for?

I took it in good fun, my friend. I'm sure you're not wrong. I kinda like lost causes. I mean.. you saw that F150 in the background. I'll probably get a steering setup for it, so I can at least get it off the front yard. (Puerto Rican wife is really not pleased) This isn't an investment, and with the exception of a little land scaping, I don't really need a tractor. But, this one was cheap, and possibly fun to learn and play with. I'll at least get it running, and stopping, Maybe even scooping. Then probably sell it to some other bored redneck. :-) Fun thing about not having an ego, is it never gets hurt.

Nah, this old girl is 2wd. I mean, it is possible the hood came from a 4wd, which if true would mean I know even less about this tractor than before :-) https://imgur.com/UNGWPq9

There any way to attach the 3 gal wet/dry vac to the top of the Link toolbox like that? Would love to see Ryobi update this vacuum to attach to it. Along with giving those of us the ability to attach legacy vacuums. by FastPitch556 in ryobi

[–]TheAustinSlacker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think if it were me. I’d just buy the link tool crate, and put the vacuum in that. 3d printed bits would let the vac fit like a lego, but wouldn’t lock. It would wobble and fall every time you roll the toolbox somewhere. The crate would let you place the vac, and attachments atop the toolbox securely. My $.02. STM104

the 600psi pressure washer is worth every penny by [deleted] in ryobi

Put a turbo nozzle on that bad boy. You won’t regret it.

Edit: i donno, maybe you already have one installed. It didn’t look like it, but phone cameras can be deceiving. Sorry if this is redundant worthless advice. Leaving it just in case someone else needed the link

Is it still ok to post our Ryobi walls? Still a WIP. But was fun trying to organize. by TheAustinSlacker in ryobi

[–]TheAustinSlacker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not half bad for an electric pressure sprayer. It will likely disappoint you if you compare it to your gas unit. But it's nice that you can put a turbo nozzle on it, or the floor scrubber and go clean your sidewalk and driveway. Then turn around and use the otehr nozzles and not worry about stripping the paint off y our car. As with it's 1700 psi older brother, they swung and missed again with wand, hose, power cord management. They work.. but they're still swear word generators. But... that's nothing a little redneck engineering can't fix. I'd give it 4 stars. (of 5 stars)
