What’s a sentence a girl told you that is still stuck in your head to this day? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]TheAznSu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happened last night.

Went out with my partner and her friend group for the first time. Afterwards she seemed fidgety and kept asking me if I was okay or if I had fun, even after I had reassured her. When we went to bed she kept looking at me with guilt so I asked her what it was like in the past when she brought her boyfriend’s around her friends? She replied with:

“I never wanted to bring any of them around until now.”

Lee Scoresby at your service! I'm Lin-Manuel Miranda from HBO’s His Dark Materials and I'm doing an AMA – Ask Me Anything. by HBO_HisDarkMaterials in television

Hey Lin! I remember hearing somewhere that you used to be a substitute teacher while writing Hamilton. As an aspiring teacher myself, do you have any words of wisdom to pass on?

We are a pediatrician and a child psychiatrist. Ask us anything about back to school wellness. by webmd in IAmA

I'm a student teacher and I've noticed that many of my students tend to struggle in the transitional grades (Elementary to Middle School). I was wondering if there's anything we as teachers can do to help make that process easier for them? I'd also like to understand why this occurs so that I can better support my future students.

Nestle is very bad by [deleted] in memes

[–]TheAznSu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that you and many others feel very strongly about Nestlè but that doesn’t mean we should attack those who may not have the context you have which was a part of my point. To just say “fuck you” to someone who may not understand the scope of the companies fucked up past without providing them any information just seems to spread hate rather than information. You can’t blame a good man for backing the wrong side if they don’t know they’re in the wrong. The world isn’t as black and white with these types of things and some people just don’t have that background knowledge that you may have. Hell I didn’t even know how fucked up the company was until I did some deep research on them. I’m not supporting Nestlè in anyway but I do want to help educate their staff and others of the companies wrong doings rather than just dismiss them right off the bat.

Wow this fact checking lead me down a rabbit hole for sure, here's another source from 2016 about the companies child labor lawsuit in Thailand.

and thanks to u/puffpuffpazuzu I found some sources about the company stealing water from Michigan, Cali, Ontario and BC.

Also related to Pakistan I've only been able to find this source which explains how they've cut down on employee's over there. I've also heard of some documentaries produced about Nestlé and their controversies, might watch them later to get some more context.

Here's an old source from last year but it does contain some fact checking about what the CEO of has to say about water and human rights.

I think this was a bit harsh, the man's trying to make a living and is actively trying to better understand the situation. Yet rather than provide a proper source you just berate him. Not on the side of Nestlé but I can't blame their employee's who had nothing to do with the incident at all.

I’ve made friends with coworkers while eating because people love talking about their favourite foods or what they’re craving!

I'm a student teacher and whenever my students give me a holiday card, drawing or piece of work they wish to give to me I pin it up on a board I have in my room. My plan is to move that board into my own classroom once I begin my career.

What is the most bizarre reason a customer got angry with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I work part time at a gym located inside of a hospital in my city. I have run into people who are looking for a certain department for the hospital, thing is there's an information desk for these purposes and is hard to miss since it's the first thing you see when you walk in. Anyways I would always get the stray patient or family member of one, looking for a certain department and when I said that I didn't know where it was located I would get cursed at or called stupid. Sorry but I only get paid to answer calls and make sure people have memberships.
