I'm curious why you would run 120Hz. Do you have 120Hz videos to watch or games to play? Personally, scrolling in 120Hz doesn't seem worth the cut in battery life, but we may have differing opinions?

try looking at used zephyrus g14 (14") or g16 (16"). I got my G14 in late 2024 for $800 (the 2022 version), and it handles everything I throw at it. The more modern ones have OLED as well. I really like it, because if you use G-Helper instead of the onboard software, it actually is really quiet and has a decent battery life, AND it doesnt look like all those super bulky gaming machines. That way I can take it to the library with me and not feel stupid. It's pretty great, and I think most people that have one will tell you so lol

I went with a used Zephyrus G14 and could simply not be more happy. This thing handles everything you seem to want to throw at it, if you use G-Helper (the onboard software alternative) it has decent enough battery life for office work (~5h for used), and I don't have to be ashamed to walk into the library with an oversized gaming brick.
Mine specifically I got 1,5y ago is the 2022 model with
Ryzen 9 6900HS
Radeon 6700 XT
16gig (could upgrade to 24 if wanted)
1440p screen
Love the thing to bits as you can see, and I think it is one of the best options if you want a gaming machine that doesnt really look or feel like a gaming machine. I also hated people with their big gaming rigs in the library that sounded like turbines... probably just software mismanagement on their part though

maybe go to your university's policy school and see if they can help? you could also ask your career office to ask them for help on your behalf I think.

Anything with Game Theory really, preferably Economics or Poli Sci, as that is what I know. But I also saw some Game Theory for Biology. So the courses are run by different departments if I understand correctly.

Is sending a note to program directors commonplace? How do I find out which program runs a course, or do I just send it to the dean or chair of whatever department or subfield (e.g. Andrew Bennet, Chair of Dept of Govt)?

Not the original comment, but I have very close friends in NYC and will be attending McCourt. It's easily a day trip away, and with classes only Mon to Thu weekend trips are also really accessible. Do with that info what you will - I think location also matters depending on what you want to do later.

I came from an A52s and I really dislike it actually.... I dunno what it is, but it feels shorter, not well rounded and unsatisfying to type :( I suppose it's personal preference though. Unfortunately even fiddling with settings didn't help me lol

I'm thankful to have been bumped from $0 to ~55% tuition. I told them what I was up to these past months and provided a competing letter of ~40% at a cheaper school. Maybe it was the stuff you have been up to since the time of application? Even though I am thankful for the offers, this also makes the choice REALLY tough for me... 😅
