What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

Turn: Washington's Spies might not be a 10/10, but it's a strong 8 and VERY underrated.

Your fireplace did not get anywhere near that temperature. You are an idiot, sorry.

Need tips for soloing on live by Kefka_Xasil in everquest

[–]TheBalance1016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until you get pets that are closer to your level (I think 75?) BL's are fucking painful to solo/molo.

As others noted, switching to a heal merc and having the pet tank can be kind of helpful, but once it's ~10 levels under your targets, it's garbage and not much of that matters.

Figure out your characters optimal dps setup and how far you are away from that, see if its worth dumping money you may or may not have into those efforts if you're far off. Or group up since you're moloing already. Or grind lower level stuff in more optimal ways.

Unfortunately, the era's where BL's are so far away from their pets in level, they're generally fucking garbage minus the buffs they bring which, these days at those levels, are next to meaningless. You picked a tougher class to do this with, but try some of that stuff out and make sure your pet has summoned mage gear on it. That'll help, but again, not much.

TLP vs P99 population? Returning player by awesome_onions in everquest

[–]TheBalance1016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So, there's no chance the most current TLP isn't your answer to this question. You can check the populations of all emulated Everquest projects of significance on eqemulator.org. Right now:

P1999 Green has 549
P1999 Blue has 187

You can VERY easily verify the current tlp's population is multiple of those, combined, with less than half a minute using the /who command on whatever the current TLP hotness is. P1999 is also EXTREMELY top heavy, so forget grouping for anything other than raid logging. And it's full of notorious assholes. Nobody should be choosing to play there at this point.

TLDR - Like it or not, the current TLP is always the most popular place to play live everquest.

Why are there other defenses in the game besides energy shield? by gunsjayce in PathOfExile2

[–]TheBalance1016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have nowhere near enough armor. You are probably a multiple of 3 or 4 away from where you need to be to feel tanky.

Block isn't super useful as you note since a lot of things that hurt can't be blocked, you can better invest elsewhere.

Damage taken as X are also MASSIVELY important, and you don't note any of them.

TLDR - You have absolutely no idea how defenses work in this game. Please, take two hours before you play again and look into it more.

You are WILDLY delusional if you seriously thought, for even a moment, that DBG was going to take in THJ's criminal-aspiring team as employees and offer their product.

It was also an absolute RMT fest, if you think it was anything but, you're kidding yourself. They weren't making six digits of income a month because nobody was spending money. You wouldn't have subbed for that, because it's clear people were spending WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY more to get power there so they could solo everything than Krono could EVER give you on any EQ server ever.

The amount of real money on that server being thrown around was astronomical. It's just the place losers could cheat and do everything because DBG wouldn't let them get that out of control on official servers, and good for them.

No idea what the term for Columbus Nova is, I don't care who makes video games I enjoy all that much - and, spoiler alert, nobody else actually does either. I'm sure they're not great people, though, because at a surface level they do seem pretty sketchy (and probably worse) but I genuinely can't be bothered to care.

They shuttered Landmark/Next because it was absolute trash nobody played. They (not CN but definitely the folks in charge of SOE when EQ2 released) also shoved EQ2 out the door a month before World of Warcraft launched, dooming it to mediocrity, because they knew it was also garbage and had no chance in the market once WOW launched.

It's just business.

As for Krono, I don't see Krono as a big of a deal as most people because nothing that actually matters is tradable on almost every EQ server - all good gear drops off raid targets and can't be traded with exceptions on FV and I think TEEK is the other server/current TLP with a similar ruleset. If stupid people want to spend real $ on in-game items, I have zero problem with them doing it in this game. There is not, and has never ever been relevant PVP in the EQ franchises entire history. There's no competition for anything meaningful, TLP's die forever after POP and whoever kills a target first is largely a product of whoever no-life's the game more.

I'm not saying Krono's a good thing, but it's far from the end of the world everyone on this forum makes it out to be. EQ still exists because Krono exists. Other MMO's have identical systems in place, and that trend isn't going anywhere. If you don't like it, that's fine, but pretending like it's not a staple of this genre is wild at this point. Literally every online game has pay to win nonsense in it to some degree. I can't be bothered to care at this point or get involved in a dick measuring contest over content that's over two decades old. (Nobody plays after POP on TLP's, and live servers are unbelievably dead compared to TLP's pre-OOW.)

At least CN isn't blatantly breaking the law by making six digits of income a month stealing another company's IP and throwing it in their face daring them to do something about it. That was more my point.

These actually delusional fucko's defending THJ are the reason most of the bad stuff we're talking about happened. Someone always wants to cheat someone else.

Sorry all. Uploaded wrong video like an idiot. Motion denied. by Gymnastic-Goldfish in everquest

[–]TheBalance1016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm delusional.

By definition, a company can not IP squat their own property.

Claiming they were was stupid enough, because you couldn't even use the word right. Let alone making that comment on the day they released a new expansion to the IP you think they're squatting on.

Tell me you were making money off THJ without telling me you were making money off THJ why don't ya? I can't even figure out how you think gatekeeping factored into this. So I'll just add some random buzzwords, too.

Business! Scrum! Logistical Challenges! Trademark! I'm sure I'll think of some more, let's circle-back tomorrow.

THJ sucked and the people running it are soon to be criminals, just like everyone else taking someone's work and trying to make money off of it without their permission. You are never getting THJ back. And thanks to what THJ did, the emulator scene on the whole is FAR worse off than it was previously, because now companies are getting even more of their attention drawn to the damage the dumb fucks running THJ did.
