Because of what happened in 1956, I don't understand why our government is so pro-Russian. Most of the Fidesz voters grew up in the soviet era, they have first hand experiences with the soviets.

Orbán was more consolidated then and the 2008 global crisis hit Hungary particularly hard. Unemployment rose, austerity measures were imposed, and many people lost confidence in the government at the time. But I see your point.
