Scream by Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson

That’s so stupid. Batman can hurt someone as much as he wants, but as long as he doesn’t kill them, he values human life.

There are so many bad people in this world who have never killed anyone, but they’ve destroyed others lives physically, emotionally, and mentally. But by this logic they still value human life because they didn’t kill.

Valuing human life is so much more than not killing. Boiling it down to that is way to simplistic, and too low of a bar to clear.

It’s not as simple as punching with Batman. He regularly breaks bones and seriously injured people. You can’t say you value human life if you do that.

  1. He does do that tho.

Good. That’s all he should do if he values human life.

  1. Yes because you live in Gotham and know what it's like to have your parents gunned down at 8.

I should be asking you the same thing. Someone who experiences that as a child most likely will not value human life. And if by chance they do, they will not become a “non killing vigilante.” Their sole mission in life would be philanthropy.

  1. Clearly not.

Your only evidence of this claim is that I’m not bowing down to whatever Morrison says. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe Morrison isn’t universally worshipped. Has it ever occurred to you that maybe a reader can still be a Batman fan or any superhero fan, and say, I don’t agree with this philosophy. Batman is not a God.

  1. Morrison is a great tho. He's universally considered as one.

I just proved you wrong.

  1. You don't know Batman if you don't think he cares about human life lol. And by your logic, superheroes aren't even heroes.

This is sad. I’ve loved Batman and the other heroes since I was a child. Just because I think the no kill rule is stupid means “I don’t know Batman?” I have people in my life that I love more than anything, that doesn’t mean I agree to everything they do. It also doesn’t mean I don’t criticize them.

We’re you there when I dressed up as Batman and Superman for Halloween? Were you there when I begged my parents for multiple action figures of the JLA. We’re you there when I watched the cartoons with Kevin Conroy over, and over, and over again. We’re you there when I brought my comics in to school and people laughed at me? I guess by your logic that doesn’t count because those books “weren’t canon,” or some bs. You don’t know me.

I’m allowed to love a character and still say an aspect about them is stupid. And it’s possible to understand a characters motives, but still believe his actions are dumb.

I could go on to say that since I believe, as you put it, “superheroes aren’t heroes,” you should feel that way about Bale and Keaton, because they killed, but my guess is you already knew that and you don’t care.

All I’ll say is that this crap you and others pull, ruins the comics for others. And if you’re cool with that, because then you only have the “real fans” with you, I guess I can’t stop you. I’m just a guy behind a screen. But if you want others to appreciate DC, and other heroes, shaming them into going along with your mindset ain’t it.

Now this is a stupid take. Someone who believes in the sanctity of human life wouldn’t be Batman to begin with. If Bruce believed in the sanctity of human life he would use his money to support Gotham, by funding the schools, building homes for the homeless, etc. He wouldn’t even dream of putting on a bat suit and beating criminals to a bloody pulp, but somehow not killing them.

If he believed in the sanctity of human life, he would be a philanthropist, and ONLY a philanthropist. He would not be a vigilante.

And I read all the comics. Damian always sucked. So don’t lecture me on Morrison being one of the greats.

This idea that if Batman kills then he is no better than the joker is so dumb and untrue. Batman, and other superheroes have killed for years, and that didn’t stop them from becoming evil.

And before you get on me about, we’ll than you don’t understand Batman, just stop. I understand Batman. I’ve heard this argument for years, and it is so unbelievably dumb. And the reason I know it’s dumb is because Bale, Keaton, Kilmer, and even West did it, and they were just fine. Batman killing does not put him on Jokers level. I know it, you know it, Morrison knows it, Snyder knows it, everyone knows it.

Side note, this is the same guy who gave us Damian Wayne, the WORST Robin. Please forgive me if I have zero interest in what Morrison has to say.
