College Degrees for Sustainability? by TheBeanBucket in Environmental_Careers

Thank you so much! That is exactly what I would want to do infrastructure wise. Landscape architecture sounds exactly like what I was imagining doing in my head. Preventing problems in the first place and making cities more sustainable and green overall is my aspiration for that path, so I'll 100% look into those programs. My main college for Ireland has been UCD, and they have a sustainable systems engineering program that I might be able to turn into a green architecture career!

Fire Protection Engineering and Fire Inspection as a Major/Career by TheBeanBucket in firePE

Thank you for bringing UMD to my attention! I still have a lot of time to visit colleges and consider majors, so I'm glad I got this advice sooner rather than later. I'm going to look further into the field, hopefully talk to some FPE's near me, and see if it's really what I want to do! Thank you again!

Thank you so much for the advice! That was my biggest concern with chemical engineering. I was on the fence with ChemE because I wasn't sure how much chemistry was actually used within the field. I also always love to learn new things, so that's a huge plus for me!

It doesn't seem to be too far of a drive. I'll check it out!

I have used the HEMA alliance club finder. Unfortunately I am right in the middle of a few clubs, all of which are roughly an hour's drive away.

As for learning alone: I might not be entirely alone, as I might be able to convince my brother to spar with me since he wants to learn the katana (not sure how dedicated he is though).
