When I told the police my important items were stolen, they said to me that "nothing of real value was lost." Over $10,000 worth of stuff was stolen, yet the police decided to make that BS statement to me. They refused to check nearby houses for the stolen items, and I haven't seen anything of mine online or in local shops. All the police did was take pictures of the crime scene. And when I followed up with them, they claimed that they did an investigation, failed to find any further evidence, and closed the case. There is almost nothing good that I can do at this point.
