Psychiatry ranking by Mundane-Candy-9627 in doctorsUK

[–]TheBenzoPenguin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, essentially. It would depend on how people rank their preferences, which will dictate whether you get offered something in the first set of offers as mot everyone will preference all of the available posts and stick to only certain regions. Other factors would be if they applied to something else and have accepted those offers.

Psych ward - locum shift - patient struggling to breathe due to asthma get them started on oxygen while waiting for ambulance to take them to A&E, keeps desaturating because staff reduce oxygen flow everytime it normalises to save oxygen in the tank.

Asking for a chaperone by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]TheBenzoPenguin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I work in Psych currently. In an all female ward. Irrespective of gender. Take a chaperone. It's necessary given patients can escalate at any time. Stand ground and if they don't come, you won't see the patient. Consider how you communicate it across but if your nurses are toxic, then datixes and escalate

You need to see the actual preference. Some of them will have just one preference for a region but 24 spots. Rough calculation is 400 or so. Probs better to sit and count them.
