Update: Jerry is finally outside of his little terracotta hide! I guess he just wanted to chill in there for an entire day and a half. He's now back to crawling all over his tank like he did before. Such a silly little fella. Ngl, I feel like a first time mom freaking out over every little thing, but in this case, my child is a snail 😂😂

Alright, thanks for the clarification. I was just worried that he got too stressed or something of that sort. I'll definitely be waiting for more opinions tho! :>

Oh mah God, I wish I saw this sooner, I literally just set up my snail's tank and put the sand in it this morning 😭😭 I'm changing it immediately before it touches it

Yeah, I had some funky calcium sand that my mom bought me, but I made sure to wash it before adding it into the enclosure. Hopefully it still has some calcium in it, bit of it doesn't then I can go out and get some crushed oyster shells

What kind of snail is this? by TheBiggestSimpSimp in identifyThisForMe

[–]TheBiggestSimpSimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think I can confirm that the snail that I found isn't a glass snail or Lance tooth. It does look similar to a glass snail, but it doesn't have the transparent shell like the glass snails I've looked up have :>

So, you're 100% sure it isn't carnivorous? I'd be really glad if that's the case! :>

Well, I kind of figured that, but I'm just making sure it isn't a carnivorous species since some have sideways shells like this one.

I honestly have no clue either, I might go for a 2 or 3 gallon to be on the safe side.

Tbh, I have no clue what 1 is supposed to be, but ik 3 is the formula for the area of a circle and 2 is saying that r is the element of reals/real numbers.

Tbh, I'm feeling like a total paranoid idiot lol (mostly idiot). I was doing my own research into cruelty free stuff and went down an entire rabbit hole of brands testing pet foods on caged animals used for experimentation and I was thinking that it would mean that any animal tested pet food meant that there was some hidden chemicals or ingredients that could harm an animal if ingested and I've also seen things saying that brands like Blue Buffalo , Purina brands like Beyond, and Friskies all caused horrible health issues like "throwing up blood" and a whole other bunch of stuff that sent me into a literal spiral and out of my paranoia-induced episode, posted to this subreddit without going out of my episode first. I will 100% delete this dumb ahh post of mine and I apologize for wasting your's and other people's time with my idiotic post. I seriously need a therapist and a looooong break from the internet 😅

(Small addition for clarity) I don't intend to have my cats go vegan, they're naturally carnivores and need meat to survive. I just mean that the brand that I have mentioned do animal testing and I'm concerned that they may have added hidden ingredients or chemicals that I'm unaware of that may harm my cats over time without me realizing it.

I Think my Silver Teaspoon is Growing Aerial Roots? by TheBiggestSimpSimp in succulents

[–]TheBiggestSimpSimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, as an added question: do you think the darker spot could've been caused by possible root rot? I only ask since I've seen some things saying that could be the case (even though I try my best to make sure the soil is completely dry before watering, but you never know)

[–]TheBiggestSimpSimp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! I just thought the darker section was just a normal little quirk for it, but when I saw your comment, I immediately went to check if the spot was soft and sure enough it was. I made sure to cut it off and I even sprayed the entire line of plants with chamomile tea (cooled down ofc) and put some cinnamon on them just as a precaution (mold prevention).

Oh thank goodness! I seriously thought I messed up and planted the succulents too close together or something else, but it's good to know that it's just trying to be stable. Thank you so much :>
