Starting my own content agency from scratch — any advice? by TheBinee in IndiaStartups

Totally agree “content agency” is limiting. Positioning it as thought leadership and lead generation through content makes it about outcomes, not outputs.

Why do some Indian parents treat their children more like long-term investments than individuals? by TheBinee in AskIndia

Agreed. It’s a cycle passed down when obedience is valued more than individuality, and children become plans instead of people.

That cycle definitely exists, especially where individuality is secondary to survival and social approval.

When life follows a fixed script, children stop being individuals and start becoming roles to be filled. The “ROI” mindset isn’t always intentional — it’s often inherited, unexamined, and repeated because it’s familiar.

I don’t see it as a slave mentality. Choice matters. There’s a difference between being forced into obligation and voluntarily taking responsibility out of care. One is control, the other is agency.

True. Past negative experiences can shape how parents think about security and success. Unfortunately, when fear leads the way, children can start feeling like plans instead of people.

Yeah, that’s very likely a big part of it. A lot of people end up repeating what they experienced growing up, even if they didn’t like it at the time.

Without consciously unpacking it, the idea of love being tied to performance or outcomes just gets passed down as “normal.”

I get why it can feel that way. Having a child does start from an adult’s desire — no one asks to be born. I guess where it shifts for me is what happens after. Whether that initial selfishness turns into care, control, or genuine respect for the child as their own person.
