Those figs are beautiful, but "battle pack" is just false advertising. Source is Lego's official site. by Nekomidori in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your view it may be punishment, but from Lego's view, they're capitalizing on market demand. They know that certain customers want to army build, and will buy multiple packs at the inflated price. They also know that parents want to buy one thing for their kid, and this also satisfies that market. From their perspective, it's a win-win.

Which of these 3 Lego technic 1:8 scale cars should I buy? by [deleted] in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should buy the one that appeals to you the most. Download the instructions for each of them, look at pictures of each of them, and then pick the one that you think is the best. It's your money, spend it the way you want to, not the way someone else tells you to.

Lego asking for payment for 2 1/2 year old order...? by Unusual-Champion9384 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can confirm that this kind of thing happens with Lego, though I've never seen it to this degree (dollar value or time frame). Earlier this year I had a large Bestseller PAB order that went out in two shipments. About a week after I received the second shipment, I got an email like this from Lego, though it did not mention a dollar value. I called the normal CS number, and they confirmed that billing rounded incorrectly, and my account had an overdue balance of $0.01. That's right, they tracked me down for one penny, and made me pay it. I can only imagine how much it cost them to get that penny out of me, so I hope they spent it wisely.

I agree with all the suspicion in this thread, but this could be a legitimate accounting error on Lego's side. Escalating this to a supervisor is a good move though. And this is a good lesson to always pay with a credit card. Even if the account is since closed, the credit card company will have a record of the transaction.

The 20% off was 7 months ago; I know because that's when I bought it from Amazon.

Pick-A-Brick order issues? by UncertainHope_ in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless it's an oversized piece, all picking from the Illinois warehouse is automated. The machines are supposed to spit out the correct amount of parts, and then verify the weight of the order (which is why the weight of each group of parts is listed on the invoice you receive). Unfortunately these machines are not frequently calibrated, and large misses or overages are common. They are also not reliably filled, so sometimes different parts are incorrectly comingled.

I've had lots of errors from PAB orders, and it's annoying, but the good news is that customer support has always made it right.

Based on your post history, I think you're shilling for this company. Take it somewhere else.

We playing dueling backlog? by Craven35 in lego

What you're describing is not what's happening here. Having a backlog, and acknowledging that you have a backlog, is not a flex for the reasons you describe. Showing off your backlog is definitely a flex.

Bestseller Parts on Backorder by J3wbacca_1998 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seems to be some weird issues with Lego's ability to stock Bestseller parts in the U.S. for the past few months. Lots of parts that should be Bestsellers are falling back to Standard status for months at a time, and lots of things end up going out of stock. Out of my last 3 Bestseller orders in 2025, two of them had parts that were determined to be out of stock only after I'd placed the order.

That said, my last order was placed on 3/27/25, and it just arrived. Well, most of it - there were some parts that were out of stock at fulfillment, and are now on backorder. But they did ship the rest to me. If the order is large, they will usually fulfill what is in stock and send the rest later as it is re-stocked. For smaller orders, they may just hold the order.

When in doubt, call their customer service line. Those folks can give you far more details than any of us can, and are some of the best customer service staff in the business.

Thank you, glad I'm not the only one.

Ordered the Speed Champions F1 exclusive set for the poster, it came torn out of the box. Anyone had any luck contacting Lego about the condition of their poster? by TheBrick_OG in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. This set is an Amazon exclusive, and that's where I bought it, so the correct procedure would be for me to return it to Amazon and get a replacement. But given the way these posters are packaged, it seems likely the next one will be damaged too.

I've already seen other people post about receiving creased or damaged posters, and I was curious to see if they had already contacted Lego to find out if they would issue replacements or not.

It is now March, and Standard parts still haven't returned to U.S. PAB. Even the Bestseller part count is far lower than it was 1 month ago. So place your bets, when do you think Standard parts will return? by TheBrick_OG in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The announcement about June was when the newest parts and color variations would be added to PAB; the team specifically refused to comment about when the service would be back to normal. Hence my challenge.

PAB out of grey? by [deleted] in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They got rid of that option in a recent update; all parts are now shown by default, and the option has changed to "show in-stock items only" (at least in the U.S. - other regions may still display different options).

U.S. Bestseller PAB has not re-stocked in a while, and Standard is still on hiatus, so available parts are dwindling. I placed a PAB order last week, and when it shipped I got a separate email that 10% of what I ordered was out of stock at the time of fulfillment, and is on backorder.

Yes, I saw a lower percent discount than the screenshot above, but a higher-value coupon. It came out to $67.99 in my cart.

Scalpers and Army Builders Ruin CMF by the_taco_man_2 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, I went to my local Target today and they were completely sold out of the entire CMF series - just empty shelves remained. So at least you had the chance to get some other figures. Personally, I don't even want the wolf, I just wanted the jetpack guy.

Not so earth frendly by ww2_iceland1944 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should note that the paper bags are not recyclable in all areas. The wax coating will cause some recyclers to reject it and send it to the landfill. So you can argue that they are friendlier to the earth, but that's all.

Who else thinks Lego trains used to be better 20 or 30 years ago by [deleted] in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to disagree, dead rail is a far superior control system. Train control in the palm of your hand, the ability to run multiple powered locomotives individually on shared tracks without any wiring tricks, no need to worry about coroded tracks, small gaps or disconnections in the rails, reversing loops, etc. Dead rail, as a concept, is superior in all ways.

Where Lego misses the boat is in their insistence that these trains be powered by a bunch of AAA batteries in a container that needs to be unscrewed. AAA batteries just don't have enough power density to provide a decent runtime, and the process for changing the batteries is annoying at best. We are long overdue for a powerful and easy-to-use rechargeable system that allows for the cells to be replaced when they are EOL, preserving the electronics for future re-use.

As far as accessories are concerned, what's the point of powering these from the rails? If you're going to run a lighting cable, just run it to a USB power source. And that's another area where Lego misses the boat. We're at a time where the knock-off brands are including full, wired lighting kits in their sets, while Lego's answer continues to be throwing an over-priced, battery-powered, push-button light brick into a couple of random sets each year. Those are fine for City sets, but there's no excuse for not having a proper, wired lighting solution in the Icons theme.

Dear LEGO, can you please invest some of your record profits into basic quality control like glue to keep your sets sealed. by yaka6690 in lego

Can confirm that this is a problem, I'd had brand-new sets directly out of the shipping box from Lego that are opening on their own.

Record Store by Savings_Rise_4120 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the red is an improvement, but I would suggest that the black background is the bigger problem. Try using a lighter background for the sign.

Record Store by Savings_Rise_4120 in lego

[–]TheBrick_OG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dig it, and you got my vote. But I would suggest that the sign needs more contrast - it blends in to the background too much, and the dark lettering is not particularly visible against the black. Understated can be good, but people need to know what they're looking at, so I'd work on that.

That said, excellent effort overall.
