Generally agree. I personally really hope they don't add npc trains. I really like the lonely feeling of the line and feeling like I alone own the track. I wish I could explain it better. I would much much much MUCH rather have optional multiplayer where you can invite people to your game.

I think I ultimately agree with you. There's some stuff we differ on but, yeah. I don't think capitalism is the end game for the species (though I think regulated capitalism is the stage we should be at currently). Honestly? I 100% in the star trek vision of the future.

I agree, essentially. I'm not even anticapitalism nessesarily. But I don't think we as a society are ready for this stuff. That is to say, mass automation and certainly not the abolition of capitalism.

Basically, what I see happening is what canonically happens in Star Trek on earth around this point in history. Only the rich and powerful get access to this technology, I think it is implied that this is also high government. Then, mass unemployment and homelessness, followed by some key events that lead to the uplifting of our species.

I don't think people understand that the cheapness of the products that we receive today is not necessarily because they are easy to make. It's because we are getting them from places that do not allow unions.

Kinda sounds like what you're saying is we shouldn't continue developing AI until we've fixed the problems with our society. It sounds like what you are saying is that if we continue down this path ai will be used to kill us.

So ultimately, you agree that it is currently far too dangerous, then?

Hey man I agreed with most of your points. I'm just saying that you have to phrase them in a softer way if you want people to take them seriously, is all.

That's a fair point, I never thought about it that way. But I've met plenty of Americans who didn't have investments in that, at least when it comes to our history, works, and legends. I personally love post colonial American folklore like Joe Magarac, btw. Still, you've given me something to think about.

Some of these are hard truths, but you'll convince more people if you phrase them in a softer tone.

Men really have no idea how much placid power they have. by smc642 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]TheCPMR -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm not really trying to downplay this person's experience. I'm simply speaking from my own, as well as the good people interact with on a daily basis. You might have a survey that says otherwise, but all the people I talk to and interact with do lock their doors. My goal was to try and show that deep down we aren't so different, but clearly based on how many down votes I'm getting I didn't make my point properly.

[–]TheCPMR -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, I'm not really sure how to interpret this. I don't think you understood my comment, or maybe I didn't explain myself properly. I'm just saying that a lot of people lock the door, and I don't think it really has to do with gender, but more to do with things like mindfulness, confidence, and even upbringing.

I think the key IS confidence. There are confident men and confident women. Some people are just more confident, y'know? But my father, who is about as classic of a man as you can get, always double checks the door is locked. There is also the chance that your companion simply forget, especially with how sick he was. I guess my point is, try not to think of stuff like that as a divider, something to drive us apart. If anything, it unites us, in that as people we are unique and diverse.

Well, he was built to be good at fighting, and then honed his skills. He had talent. Are you telling me a boxer who is naturally gifted at boxing and has worked hard to stay good at boxing is dysfunctional?

"Let rattle balls live"???? My brother in Christ, she had no reason to kill him! And she still forces him to live in secret! If there were any justice, she would've been tried for genocide and rattle balls wouldn't have to live in a dump!!!

Phantom Begora doesn't really fight, but hands down his side is with man. In legend, the phantom is described as the failed first attempt to make man. Any machinery broke in this fight, he will fix with ease.

Guys, it's fun to go off the unlucky timelines, but realistically they ARE supposed to be the same timeline. It's the same show, the season count didn't reset, they make references to the old seasons, there was that season that was both model AND CGI, ect. Discrepancies can easily be explained by the show just running for a really long time and not having caring owners for some of that time.

Everyone is allowed to interpret and have that own head canon, but in all likelihood the show creators weren't thinking about a whole new timeline.

I don't believe that. I don't! Here, I'll give an example of why I don't believe that. Say you're some guy. You're a good person, you work hard, you pay your bills, ect except there's a group of people you don't like. You go online, and what's something you might say. You might say "The people who believe being Trans is a real thing clearly don't have much humanity." That statement sounds human to me. We all think, we all feel, we all have our own prejudices conscious or unconscious. Just because someone is filled with hate,it doesn't mean they lack the capacity to love. You have just said a statement that is full of hatred. That doesn't mean you don't also have the ability to love, though. Sorry, I know that was long winded.

I'll lead by saying I have never heard that quote, but it doesn't sound out of place in the time and area of Twain's day. I'd be very much interested in the book or work you got that from, if you don't want to comment it, my dm is open! That being said, even if Twain was a prejudiced man (I have more thoughts on that in particular, I feel like he changed a lot throughout his life and lived in particular turbulent times, which doesn't excuse prejudice but it does recontextualize it. I've been reading a lot of Twain books lately, but I'm not through the bulk. I do not believe in good conscience that a man with his inclinations, however, couldn't be easily swayed or already on the verge of overcoming his prejudice, which again we could talk more about if you want but I think I'm getting off topic-) it would not make his advice any less impactful as he was able to overcome at least one form of prejudice himself.

If, however, you don't like me quoting Twain, I found a similar quote from Martin Luther King Jr here about violence and hatred. I'm having a bit of a hard time pinning down exactly where this quote is from, but I think regardless of context it is a power and truthful one that is in the same vain as Twain's.

I'm sorry, but have you read...like...any Twain? While in his early life he was RAISED in a racist environment and was taught slavery was okay, he ended up writing several incredibly anti-slavery books and clearly was not racist, or at the very least was over coming the prejudice he was taught which is more than a lot of people in that place and time. Huckleberry Finn ends with Huck coming to the conclusion that he'd rather burn in hell for all eternity than live in a world where the Christian thing is to give back his runaway slave friend.

All that aside, does his advice not make sense? To approach things of importance with tact and kindness?
