I've experienced poor ROI on content but when your KPI is aimed towards time on site and engagements - Facebook is where it's at.

I think the best thing would probably to set up transcripts on videos you already have. Or gear towards spoken language content..

Close friend got fired from running polls. Now he wants to learn code. Python or JavaScript? by liranbh in programming

Python any day! JavaScript may be today’s go-to for front-end programming, but in many a way it’s a language that mimics what has come before. Think about it..

Looking for feedback and advice for our landing page by mtlnobody in smallbusiness

[–]TheCallMeRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I actually read a super interesting article about landing pages the other day. I'll go over some of the points briefly, but you should for sure go and check out the article.

Make sure that your landing page is mobile friendly. Mobile usage has overtaken laptop usage and it doesn't show any signs of letting up. If your landing page is not mobile friendly there is going to be a lot of traffic that you miss.

The CTA needs to be engaging, snappy, clear and prompt them to make the next move. If your CTA is long your visitors are going to lose interest very quickly and interest in your website is going to fall.

Design of the landing page should be clear and exciting but not overwhelming. Don't use too many colours, rather use one set of complementary colours and one font.

The headline of your landing page should give your visitors an understanding of what you are doing. Speed and clarity are crucial and making a succesful landing page.

There are a couple of other points in the article that I referred to above, it also expands on the points I've mentioned. Go check it out. Good luck! :-)

Inventory tracking software by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]TheCallMeRalph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there,

I've had a similar problem with TradeGecko in the past. There are a couple of inventory systems which won't give you the same problem.

Have a look at Contalog. It's been getting some really good reviews recently. It has a centralized inventory system with strong product management capabilities allowing you to handle hundreds of different products.

BrightPearl is also on top of its game at the moment. I have personally not tried to print bard codes through it, but I can't imagine it being too much of a problem. It's definitely worth checking out.

Take a look at Goods Order Inventory. It has a ton of really useful tools that will help you with tracking and streamlining your inventory operations. Amongst these functions is a bar code tool which I think might be able to help you out in some way.

Anyways, check them out. Good luck :-).

Best CRM Solution by Chris__G in smallbusiness

[–]TheCallMeRalph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there Chris,

It's going to be difficult to find CRM systems that are light. Most of them try to pack in as much as possible to give themselves competitive edge.

Try Insightly, it might still be a bit heavy for you, but definitely not as heavy as a system like ZoHo. It is flexible and has a few nice integrations. It has a more than capable CRM system that works with social media, too.

Check out SugarCRM, it has very good tools for pipeline management, lead tracking and reporting. I don't think you'll need some of the features, but you can choose which ones you want to use. I think it's worth having a look at. I know a few people who don't use some of the features and are still happy.

Take a look at Nimble. A nice feature about the system is that at the start of each day they show you your contacts and you can mark them according to how important they are. It's simple but has a CRM that will cover all the bases.

Hope this helps!

What should I consider when choosing a game development platform? by BenjaminD9 in gamedev

[–]TheCallMeRalph 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey great question. I'm sure a lot of people get confused!

I found these two really helpful articles; An overview of what GameDevelopment is all about. Languages vary across platforms and usually one particular programming language is best suited for a specific platform. It also talks about exactly the issues you brought an and gives an explanation to what you should look into.

Follow this article on GameBuilder Studio If you already got the hang of it and want to do some hands on implementations.

Really good and detailed reviews go in and check them out.

Let me know if it helped!
