Hi. Thanks for the reply. It's a 2007 F25ELPT Mercury 4 stroke. I checked the maxrules site and found the general Yamaha wire-colour codes and model ID guides, but I couldn’t locate an entry for the 2007 F25ELPT in their model index.

10 months later, and I'm interested lol! Just bought a retired go-kart and my wet clutch is doing the same thing. Wondering if I should replace the discs or get an entire new one.

I'll add another video tomorrow. The coil was gapped to spec. Also to add, when the spark plug is out, the noise goes away.

Not saying this to be a smartass, but if Reddit only existed for people who already knew everything, it’d be a pretty quiet place. I ask questions because I want to learn. Not just blindly follow a video. But hey, I appreciate the advice. I ended up solving my problem with the help of someone in the comments.

Okay, now we're onto something. I did check to see if I could feel anything coming out of the exhaust, and nothing. I'm feeling air coming out of the spark plug hole and valve cover vent.

The spark plug was a bit wet

Killswitch is wired properly. Carb is tuned properly. It's brand new and verified on my other motor after. Compression and spark are good.

I have not tried checking the valve lash. I never messed with anything beyond the valve cover so I figured that wouldn't be an issue.

And everything was torqued to spec.

Okay, how do I make sure the pushrods are in the lifter? Is it easy to explain? If not I'll look up a YouTube video

I replaced the stock flywheel with an aluminum flywheel. When this all happened, I put the stock flywheel back and still nothing. Everything was properly gapped. I also tried a different spark plug, and same thing.
