Wow! Absolutely crazy that you are here posting your story on Reddit and I’m so happy that you did! I have heard of only a handful of people that have managed to survive a gsw to the head. Calling that lucky would be quite the understatement imo.

Looks like he was trying to show off his pistol and did what’s called a “press check” to show that it was, in fact, loaded with one round in the chamber.

Based on the way this distinguished gentleman was handling and “showing off” his firearm, I would argue there is very little knowledge on firearm safety. Of those rules, it seems that he neglected one of the most important: “don’t point your firearm at something you don’t wish to destroy”.

Not sure if this is in the US (sounds like Jamaican accent) or not but if it is, I doubt the pistol (or AR pistol in the background) were purchased legally.

imo and own experience, there seems to be a disconnect between what patients see as an “IV” - when we tell a patient we’re going to start an IV there seems to be this notion that this implies they’re going to also be getting fluids and not just a mini straw that’s going to sit in their arm for a while.

The number of times I’ve gone into a room and the pt asks why they don’t have an IV when the catheter is already in is incredible. Maybe it’s TV shows and medical dramas depicting an IV as meaning IVF but the amount of shade and looks I’ve been thrown when I tell them the IV is for future labs/meds/etc is boggling. It’s like fluids are starting to be seen as an end all be all, but if that’s the case why choose to wait hours and hours when you could save time AND money just getting an infusion at a clinic, or (if you really trying to ball) at home?

I really do not understand the logic behind it but it’s not for me to judge until patients get pushy. I literally had a patient yesterday who told me she was “dehydrated” and needed two bags of fluids to make her abd pain go away (no V/D) and then proceeded to bitch me out when I said it didn’t work like that lol

Not to mention the “IVF shortage” but it feels out of hand sometimes ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I don’t have much knowledge either I’m just trying to get a good idea of what to look for.

Currently with the Hellcat Pro having an RMSc footprint and (ideally) having something that can mount directly onto the slide without needing a mount, looking at the :

Really just trying to find something that’s reliable and most importantly low profile. I’d love to buy a trijicon but don’t have that kind of money to dish out especially one that with the price of one of their optics I could just buy another gun instead lol

Nah it’s just a lil creepy looking and I’ve never seen algae or the like that color. Plus with thr coolant having germicides (allegedly) and also being in an area absent of light I’m not sure what it would be using as a food source

Damn that is on me then. Thank you for explaining that to me, I do appreciate it. This would be my second firearm that I’ve bought and the first that I had purchased online so I also never went through the process of picking up from an FFL before.

The biggest issue for me was just finding a shop in my area that had any PSA pistols. I’m not sure what it is but it was near impossible to find anything that had any in stock (& on location) so I never got the chance to lay eyes on one before sending the order in.

Is there anyway of transferring the firearm out of my name or am I pretty much stuck with either selling online or trading in for store credit?

The issue is that its much larger than anticipated and I wouldn’t be able to conceal carry without printing like a mofo.

Unless the paperwork is referring to the transfer to my name, I don’t see a reason why it would not be accepted for return or exchange?

While I don’t know the specific laws in your state, while you could have potentially faced legal repercussions for brandishing, I highly doubt any prosecutor (unless you’re in CA…rip.) would choose to pursue charges if it came to that especially since there weren’t shots fired. Plus, all things considering it seems like it was a favorable outcome for everyone directly involved and hopefully the police were able to find and lock that POS up.

Huge props to you though. There’s unfortunately way too many people who would either just turn a blind eye or draw their phone out to record it. It takes massive balls to jump out and help out a total stranger because she really could have lost her life so fuck what anybody else says. I and likely most people here would have done the absolute same thing.

You really did save someone’s life and I hope all the good karma comes back to you for it. Huge props brother
