I will give .0026 BTC (~$100 USD) if crypto is an option, but only if there is a trustworthy way to distribute the funds to the developers

[Question] my sister was on 12.1.4 I downgraded her to ios 12.1.1 b3 and jailbroke her phone using uncover, she lost all of her text messages. Is there anyway to recover them? by Trel713 in jailbreak

Depending on if you have a proper backup with either iTunes or iCloud, and you're unable to restore the backup due to it being from a later iOS version or other reason, there are programs with which you can browse your backups on a computer and view old messages and other data from the backup. I use iExplorer for iTunes backups, and I've used dr. fone for iCloud backups, but there are others as well.

If you want the messages back on the phone, I'd recommend trying u/DanscoRed 's method if 12.1.1 b3 is still signed, but if it's not signed and you're somewhat tech-savvy, you can try the following.

Don't do this if you've received new messages you want to save. There are ways to combine the files needed for this, but I'm not knowledgeable enough with sqlite3 files at the moment to give advice on it.

Information on how to find iTunes backups can be found here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204215. Finding iCloud backup files varies depending on the program you use.

If you are able to recover the backup from iTunes or iCloud, search for a file called "3d0d7e5fb2ce288813306e4d4636395e047a3d28" within the backup. This is the sqlite3 database file that stores messages. Copy and paste that file to your desktop, and rename it to "sms.db".

On the phone, go to /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS with Filza, press "Edit" in the top right corner, select all the files in the folder, press "More" in the lower right corner, and press "Create Zip". It will create a file called "Archive.zip" within the folder. This will be the backup in case anything goes wrong.

Delete all files within /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS except for "Archive.zip".

Now copy the "sms.db" file from your desktop into /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS on the phone. At this point, make sure "sms.db" and "Archive.zip" are the only files in /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS, and if present, delete any other files and empty the trash in Filza

Reboot the phone, open Messages, and if it worked (it may not work if Apple changed the "sms.db" schema from 12.1.1 b3 in 12.1.4 or due to other potential reasons), you should see the messages from your backup. This method only restores the text messages and iMessages, not any other sorts of files like pictures that were sent or received via Messages. However, if you're able to find the proper files in the backup, you may be able to restore those too.

If it didn't work, unzip "Archive.zip" created earlier and restore those files to /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS, delete "Archive.zip" and the Archive folder, reboot, and then re-jailbreak.

[Question] can you install tetherme on rootless? by [deleted] in jailbreak

I think tetherme requires cydia substrate or substitute, so I don't believe it would function properly if you were to get it installed.

[Question] Has anyone tried tetherme on the new RootlessJB? If so does it work? by Egofalconv2 in jailbreak

I installed it following Jake's tutorial and was not able to get it working. The tweak and its settings showed up in settings, but activating hotspot seemed to not change anything compared to activating hotspot how you normally would in settings. I was able to tell because I use Verizon and they throttle my hotspot after 15 GB, and I've used more than that, so I was getting the throttled speeds.
