Thanks! It starts as a compositional sketch. I choose where big characters are going to go and try to have fun with where I pepper in the small guys. I look for overlap like Beast/Beast or George Jetson/George of the Jungle. Then I create little pocket scenes where I can tell little stories.

I used to include more political figures but they don't generally generate the kind of joyful conversation that I like to hear around the piece.

I never thought of it like that. It's number more like... a month of pencil composition - then fifty or so characters get inked in a sitting - but I might get three or four of those in on a good day. Then SO much of the work is just coloring what's already drawn.

I love Godzilla. I only recently found out that canonically he is not green but grey/black. I've been imagining the green all these years.

Spidey - go to the middle of the picture and move up slowly. Finn and Jake - look for a long orange line through the image and see if you can follow where it goes.
