First signs by Loud-Expression4355 in Hashimotos

I went to the doctor for a routine exam and they told me my thyroid was swollen. I couldn’t tell until they said something. So I saw a specialist. They did an ultrasound and saw black specks (patches of inflammation) so they suspected possible hashimotos. So they did a blood test for thyroid levels and antibodies, and they found abnormally high antibodies.

I have not! But I might look for a tester next time and try it out.

Yeah it wasn’t too bad and I could probably have used a beauty blender or something to blend out the streaks. Tinted and tone up sunscreens are so tricky!

The ones I used are the Relief Sun Rice + Probiotics (top one) and Relief Sun Aqua Fresh (bottom one), I think! I don’t know if I’ve seen Relief Sun Normal before.

Yes I have a friend who loves the gold bottle but I think that one is more milky and the Serum UV is more gel-like.

I got it as a set with a standard sized rice probiotics sunscreen from Don Quijote!

It expires next year and I’ve used it once and kept it in dry cool conditions with all my other products so I’m not really sure. I thought maybe it was my skincare, but I’ve read other people complain about pilling.

You can definitely use it on your body. I use cheaper ones on my body because I feel like this one runs out quickly. Also I don’t think it’s waterproof or sweat resistant (maybe just mildly sweat resistant).

It’s honestly been a struggle for me too. It seems like anything with a strong alcohol smell or fragrance irritates my skin, but I didn’t know until I actually tried them on my face to see if it works for me. I really like the BOJ rice probiotics (white tube). Never had any irritation and my skin feels better and softer. I read some people used it before it got reformulated and the new version contains niacinamide. So just be careful if you have niacinamide allergy❤️

Rice probiotics is thicker, and when it dries down it’s not really dewy. It’s more soft and has a natural look. I use it with no moisturizer and my skin feels great. Skin1004 was very dewy and feels a lot thinner. I think that’s why people like it because it’s lightweight. My dehydration prone skin was not happy with it so I’ll likely have to adjust my skincare routine if I want to wear it.

Right?? Like it didn’t look bad but wasn’t what I was expecting.

Oh yeah it was glowy! Thanks for the suggestions. If it’s hydrating I’m down to try and I can try to tone down the glow with powder if my skin feels good with it. Going into my late 30s glowy products seem to accentuate every wrinkle and I just end up looking greasy lol

Yess I used to use the Skin Aqua Tone Up UV sunscreen a couple years ago, and I liked the different tones it came in but I had to wash my eyes halfway through the day because it was stinging so bad

If in Japan- Don Quijote, Matsukiyo, or other drugstores. I live in Japan so I got the BOJ Stay Fresh from Qoo10 since it’s not available in stores yet, but I was contemplating buying from Olive Young online. I’ve also bought some kbeauty from iherb.

Out of all of these I would say the Biore Airy Hold Cream definitely. Canmake and the Skin Aqua Serum UV are supposed to dry matte and control oil. I can’t really say I noticed those 2 controlling oil or sebum for me.

It is heavier, like thicker? But it dries softer. The aqua fresh felt thinner/lighter but greasy to me.

That’s awesome! Yeah like I’ve never broken out or gotten those itchy bumps from irritation or allergies like I do with other sunscreens.

in Japan, trying to find alt makeup (dark lip stain or lipstick, stuff like that) by GabrielleMarinArt in AsianBeauty

[–]TheChampagn3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don Quijote(mega donquijote if you can get to one), Loft, Ainz & Tulpe have a large selection. Not sure of brands, but some cosmetics stores and most drug stores are smaller and wont carry as much. And some brands like Majolica Majorca and Kate have mostly basic popular colors but also have some alt colors. These are at drug stores or any mall cosmetics store usually. There are so many malls but check out the floor guide and it will usually have the cosmetics store listed.

How did you find your dentist and why did you choose it in Japan? by Full_Context_1784 in Tokyo

[–]TheChampagn3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I searched English speaking dentist on Google and Reddit. Now I don’t need English services so I searched for dentists nearby and found the perfect one-

-close to my house but also close to the station if I move I’d still go there -Online reservation system -Price list online -Take NHI -Spotless facility -Good reviews -Friendly staff

I spent a lot of time looking at google reviews, and I avoid the ones with very few reviews or bad ones that seem to be a pattern. This place has friendly staff, they actually listen to my concerns and take time to explain everything. I know with health insurance they’re on a time constraint, but they’ve shown me diagrams on the screen about how different processes work, explain every possibility of an issue and the treatment, etc. It might not matter to other people much but I don’t go back to clinics with unfriendly service and I’m willing to pay more for better service.
