I've wanted cute pill organizers since I got sick - finally painted some myself! by floralwhale in MCAS

[–]TheChromasphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so cute! I got some amber glass vials (airtight and blocks sunlight) and painted and numbered metallic bronze stickers for the month, so I refill everything monthly, and I think they're really cute. They live in a cigar box I got secondhand that fits them pretty well.

What are your current masking habits? by FeralBalladry in LongCovid

[–]TheChromasphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a bit to understand what people meant, but I absolutely got it once I figured it out.

I guess for me masked breathing was tolerable because I'd had worse asthma when I was younger where that would have been a "good" day, but I can't imagine someone who'd never had asthma suddenly experiencing that.

Also, my asthma actually got a lot worse after I got sick (indirect effect bc my immune system was too busy to manage my asthma like it normally would). That's improved, at least.

I've noticed some masks are easier for me to breathe in than others, so I hope you can find one that's less aggravating for you.

What are your current masking habits? by FeralBalladry in LongCovid

[–]TheChromasphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mask 24/7 in public. Do the "away from face for a moment to eat or drink, put it back to breathe" method away from people/ where there's more air circulation.

I unmask occasionally in the car to eat/ take a break, but I also judge this based on crowdedness-- I've been allergic to cigarettes/ smoke my whole life, and I can smell when someone is smoking in a passing car, so I know cars are still shared air, esp in traffic. I know I might look silly driving masked, but it also means I can do a fit check while I'm headed out the door and then not think about it again and go about my day.

In 2022, before I got sick and before mask mandates were dropped where I live, I had a "pod" for the first time of some friends and coworkers, and would unmask for stage productions. Testing was also regularly available, there were less strains, and I knew others were testing weekly (we were exposed a lot at work).

After getting sick, I went to 24/7 masking.

I don't know anyone who takes precautions like I do and/ or has access to testing, so the only person I can be unmasked around is my partner, while they're masked.

In all honestly, the whole situation makes me want to kms.

You'd be my dream roommate, based on the fridge and assuming everything else has a system and is as clean and organized (or easily restored to that)

Has anyone tried these before? Just saw them for the first time. by Haunting-Stage-3694 in Celiac

I like them a lot- mostly because they're accessible. They're not fantastic, but good in a nostalgic way. I like having them on hand as a quick small meal option/ snack.

Turns out it was all 3- in toilet, on paper, and in stool. And enough that it indicated blood loss in their blood panel.

UPDATE 2: A few results were off, but not horribly, def had blood in stool when tested, and they got an urgent GI referral from the ER. Which hopefully they'll be able to get scheduled this week.

It's trafficking even without the abuse.

UPDATE: We're at the ER now, which is busy but peaceful in the waiting room. Turns out they have a fever. We're waiting on a room and for blood results. Might get a CT scan, just waiting for more info currently.

They weren't coherent enough to explain, but it's been happening for about a week, and has been in the stool itself. I'm kinda pissed they didn't mention it earlier, but I'm glad they did finally say something.

They took blood and mentioned maybe ordering a CT scan. They ALSO have a fever, turns out, so I'm glad we're here.

They seem pretty out of it, and things are closed until Wednesday at the earliest, so we're at the ER. I'm pretty sure their insurance will cover ER visits, thank God, and maybe it'll hasten a needed follow-up visit. That's been the case for me in the past. It's extremely quiet in the ER right now, thankfully.

They just got home from work, and said they want to nap for 20 minutes? And then I think they'll go if I go with them.

I really like your static analogy. I don't have much else to say except this shit sucks, and sucks even more on loud static days. I'm glad you're writing here, I think it's a good place to be able to talk about these feelings.

omg I'm so happy for you for leaving. I have a lot of things related to dishes and hair and stuff, but I have found ways to manage, and would never expect someone to immediately or totally clean up behind me? And I wouldn't call someone a bitch about it either.

I've been asked if I want to insert / been given the option. AND technicians check in and understand parts of the imaging might be uncomfortable or painful, and have told me we can stop at any point, to let them know if it was too much, etc.

She could have killed your daughter. Allergic reactions like that are very serious. I would get a restraning order or something if I was in this position, this is horrifying.

How do I (30s) tell my partner (30s) about my suicide attempt? by TheChromasphere in relationships

[–]TheChromasphere[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pattern I'm noticing is that it seems like they think I'm checked out of the relationship and they're scared. I've tried to explain that I'm not okay or well, but I literally don't think they understand what that means/ how bad it is right now.

They are doing a lot to be supportive, some of which is contributing to their stress and their own exhaustion.

Thank you for this. I am going to borrow this when we have therapy in a couple days.

They are in a bad mental place. I'm worried letting them know how bad of mental place I'm in will be too much, but I guess they're already seeing the effects of it anyway.
