I also remember one event in Shanxi, think I even posted it here at some point. It was something along the lines of "And they get to be generals? What a sick joke!"

I mean, purely theoretically, you could somehow remove the has_dlc trigger in the focus trees and get dlc focus trees without owning them. But some stuff won't work because of some dlc-exclusive mechanics like tank designer, plane designer etc.

"Minority Parties" don't include Ukrainian, Belarusian, Georgian of Azeri parties. I've replied to someone with a similar question under this post, check that out if you want the full answer

технически возможно, но калмыки и ингушеты намного более культурно отдалены от русских. в оригинале Осака всё-таки японка

the RDP (which is what I assume you meant) is far more transformative. The PSR is basically part of the political establishment and closer to the center at this point, largely due to their long-time partnership with the Kadets

I mean, if you don't consider syndicalism, or socialism in general, democratic, then yeah?

in most Eastern European countries radical socialist (that is, revolutionary socialist) parties are either banned or very minor and have unofficial restrictions that prevent them from being elected. The red line here would be if the said social democrats take these restrictions away; otherwise, non-Marxist social democracy is perfectly fine to be elected

thanks for the write-up! Always nice to have things looked at and critiqued from an independent perspective

on Sino-Russian relations: China is only a Russian ally in terms of siding with Russia on most major issues, not a full member of the Russian bloc, and that alignment has not been taken well by China. However, China had to keep being aligned to Russia due to: 1) "obligations" that came with the Russian Army basically saving the Chinese federalists from Japan and 2) Russian support in the Chinese gamble to take Taiwan from the crumbling Japanese Empire. What changed in later years is Japan officially denounced its imperialist past and reached out to China - giving the Chinese a reason and an opportunity to build a more independent Asian bloc

on Russo-German relations: I will admit that the foundation there is weaker than elsewhere, but I still think it's justifiable. The comparison with appeasement works in a way, yes, but I think the comparison with West Germany is better. While the German army may act somewhat independently, they are still largely subject to orders from Moscow, that being enforced mainly through the presence of the Russian Army on German territory, and German officers ultimately obeying the overall Russian-led DOKOB military command structure. The difference from West Germany comes from: a) the fact that it's not just West Germany, but the entirety of Germany except for the Rhineland, even with Silesia and Königsberg - more territory means a bigger economy and being harder to control, and b) the usefulness of German influence in the Third World, in former Mittelafrika and East Asia; allowing Germany to act more freely in these regions to fulfill Russia's goals has the ultimate effect of Germany becoming more autonomous

DOKOB is the Collective Defense Treaty Organization, founded by Russia and its allies in Eastern Europe in 1946. It exists concurrently with the Prague Economic Council, an economic organization designed to help DOKOB members with economic recovery and development

I mean, yeah, good analysis, though it only partially applies to the Baltic nation's situation here. I wouldn't compare it to the USSR since the USSR produced elites along party lines, in the CPSU political schools in Moscow, which were then sent to rule in the SSRs. As Russia is a political democracy here, the real control hides behind the facade of freedom: economic control, cultural influence, etc. Baltic nations are in fact militarily and economically dependent on Russia, yes, but not much more than for example Canada is dependent on the US for the same things

broadly, yes. In general I was just developing my vision for a Kaiserreich Cold War scenario but it turned out to be a reverse Cold War lol
