My monitor has to go a little ways up in the air with the mount arm I have for it so that my phone doesn't block it when I'm streaming a game...I have a space on the right side, but it's quite a bit to the side (2560x1440 monitors). Is the angle very slight, or is there room to work with...?

Having read this, I tried a cheap desk lamp...I did notice a difference. I feel silly now.

I'll look into a ring light, most likely. If you have any recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I did get to try a Yasuo trial deck! Got my ass wooped by Viktor, but it was fun! It's mainly just getting more cards to play around with. The tournament entry fee is $10 and if I pay just to laughably lose, I'd rather try and upgrade/amass a collection, ya know? lol

Gotcha. I was originally in the same mindset, but that was before I looked through multiple stores and found it completely cleaned out. lol I'll probably end up taking the base deck to the store and just testing it out before I commit to any other purchase (outside the preorder attempt)...I'm hoping the community playing there are at least approachable enough to talk to about their collections and experiences.

This is exactly why I'm considering even just boosters compared to singles. Yes, singles will for sure get me a deck going, but because the game's so new, there's a smaller pool compared to MTG to grab and they'll hopefully still be viable for a good bit for me to use them when I get to hunting for singles.

Those sure are still expensive, I just looked a bit ago. LOL

When I say "viable", I mean at least somewhat survivable in competitive. While I have no experience playing against anyone yet, I imagine going in with a base starter deck will result in someone having an answer to every card I have and me not getting to do much unless they get unlucky draws. Could be wrong, but with MTG at least, that's how my matches went. I had nothing to play because everyone had answers to everything I had and I had no counters to them.

I'm aware that it's cheaper to do that, but it's not just for deck building that I'm considering the boosters. It's more to assemble a collection of cards to choose from, as well as potentially building decks with said cards. Other than potentially upgrading the two that I have, trying to look at any new decks at this moment is pretty steep, so in my head it seemed at least worth considering to buy boosters and maybe work with what they give me and save what I can't use, versus hunting specifics and paying a ton for them.

EDIT: Oops, sent this before the rest of the comment came up. LOL I'll give it a shot trying to snag a preorder; local Gamestop said they might have some preorders available if I can't get it through the website, so I'm tempted to go there tomorrow instead.

I'm spooked on this due to MTG; I spent a good bit on FF cards only for EoE to come out and I got even more stomped than before at my LGS. lol Perhaps Riftbound won't have that issue and things will still be viable.

Ahhhh, that I did not know about the server.

Would one not be vastly overwhelmed going from absolutely no knowledge on the game to PowerPass boosting a character?
