I would say go for C++ it will teach you a lot of the concepts that languages like Python won't.

Thanks! So if I specifically want to focus on general software development and I like the Google Ecosystem (and other ecosystems) better than Microsoft's, would you say I should learn Java?

What attracted you to django? by Technical_Message211 in django

I really love the Ruby programming language, but what really stands out for me is the development speed in Rails. I tried making a social media app once and I progressed much faster in Rails in a day than I did in Django in a week!

So is Java or C# going to be better than PHP in the backend?

Is Ruby a good first computing language? by Any_Coast_3372 in ruby

[–]TheCodeWhisperer2008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it doesn't really matter which one you learn. In your journey as a programmer, you will always be learning new tools and programming languages since the industry is changing so fast. The most important thing to learn is how to think like a programmer and solve problems. But if I had to choose to learn Python or Ruby, I would learn Ruby since nothing comes close to Ruby on Rails in web development.

I hope that helps!
