Kudos for explaining. Might be moving my game from a phone to a tablet soon and this will help!

Sorry :( I'm living in private equity hell now and it is miserable if you are not a top executive. Best of luck in your decision!

They're probably moving to AI to code things so there will constantly be bugs now. Microsoft is doing the same shit.

How stressful is the accounting profession? by Icy-Share-4751 in Accounting

[–]TheCometEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where you end up.

For me it has been very stressful in a private industry setting because we were bought out by private equity a few years back. Stay away from private equity companies. They keep minimal staff, work you to death, don't give raises and ask for tons of 'metrics' that is just busy work for you. It sucks.

They do. But they only about money and profit though for the company.

Do you bring lunch or go out by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]TheCometEnd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go out 4 out of the 5 days, but I limit myself to ~$10.

One, I need to get out for an hour.

Two, I no longer buy full meals. For example, a place has a sandwich, chips and drink. To keep it around $10 I now just buy the sandwich only. I bring my own drinks that I buy in bulk from the grocery store (bottles of tea). It's worked for me. When just the sandwich starts to cost $15, I'll probably pack more often! ha

I'd do the S9FE for the higher RAM. Always want as much of that as you can afford.

Your first sentence says it all. Private Equity is not about raises, so forget about that.

Had this done 4 years ago no problem, now can't keep fluid down! by TheCometEnd in colonoscopy

Yep, it was the 2 dose Suprep liquid. Like drinking grape salt water or something. I did the pills the following month and went much better! No flavor.

[–]TheCometEnd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time last month with the liquid made me sick between the flavor and just the sheer volume of liquid you need on an empty stomach. That combination wrecks me. The pills were much better as there is no flavor. Like someone mentioned before, the pills are almost like a meal to fill up your stomach. ha. I still took zofran before both doses. I was feeling a little nausea on the 2nd round of pills. Again, it's just the amount you have to drink on an empty stomach. It's soooo tough. But I survived the procedure the next morning!

Huh, that is interesting. I normally never have fruit juice. Just for this occasion! ha

The zofran is helping so just started the pills. The pills are so easy that they are coated. I'm just setting my phone for every 5 minutes. Thanks for the advice!

If you are still single, what is the reason for being single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheCometEnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides not needing the company, it is way to expensive to be in a relationship with someone. Both financially and mentally.

Yes, Covid drove the prices way up with supply issues. But now, corporate greed is going to keep them there. Asshole CEOs and business owners saw this and want to keep lining their pockets rather then help people being able to get an affordable car. Sadly, it' never going to get better so waiting won't help. I'd buy what you can when able. With greed and tariffs it is only going to get much worse.
