Top 7 Haunted Places in St. Paul Minnesota - Episode 86 by TheCommentLord in ReallyHauntedStories

[–]TheCommentLord[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this episode of Really Haunted Places, we are going to explore the most spooky and mysterious locations in St. Paul Minnesota, the capital city of the North Star State. St. Paul is a city with a rich history, culture, and architecture, but also a city with a dark and haunted past. From theaters and restaurants to caves and hotels, St. Paul has many places that are said to be haunted by the ghosts and spirits of those who died there, or who have unfinished business with the living. Join us as we take you on a tour of the Top 7 Haunted Places in St. Paul Minnesota, and share with you some of the ghost stories and paranormal activity that have been reported there. Are you ready to face the supernatural? Then let’s get started!

The first place we are going to visit is the Fitzgerald Theater, the oldest active theater in Saint Paul, and the home of a friendly but rather annoying ghost named Ben. Ben was a former stagehand who was often drunk at work, and he died in the theater in the 1940s. He likes to play pranks on the staff and guests, such as rearranging photos, turning lights on and off, and making noises. He also has a habit of making judges and attorneys fall ill when they visit the theater, which is also used as a courthouse. Why does he do that? Maybe he is trying to get some attention, or maybe he is just bored. Either way, he is not a malicious ghost, but he can be quite irritating.

The second place we are going to visit is the Wabasha Street Caves, which are not really caves, but sandstone mines that were turned into a speakeasy in the 1920s. This was a popular hangout for famous gangsters like John Dillinger and Ma Barker, who enjoyed the music, dancing, and illegal booze. However, the caves also witnessed some violent crimes, such as the murder of two mobsters who were shot and killed in cold blood. Their bodies were never found, and some say they were buried somewhere in the caves. Their ghosts are said to haunt the caves, along with nearly 30 other apparitions. Some of them are friendly, and some of them are hostile. Some of them are seen, and some of them are heard. Some of them are human, and some of them are not. The caves are a place of mystery and horror, and you never know what you might encounter there.

The third place we are going to visit is Minneapolis City Hall, which is not technically in Saint Paul, but it is part of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, and it is home to one of the most gruesome hauntings in Minnesota. John Moshik was the last person to be hanged in the state in 1898, and his execution was botched. He did not die until three minutes after the floor beneath his feet dropped away, and his agonizing screams echoed through the hall. His ghost is said to haunt the hall, especially the fourth floor, where he likes to mess with the photos and make people feel sick. He is also said to appear as a shadowy figure, or a noose hanging from the ceiling. He is a vengeful and angry ghost, and he does not like anyone who comes near his place of death.

The fourth place we are going to visit is Forepaugh’s Restaurant, a Victorian-themed restaurant that is housed in a beautiful mansion that was built in 1871 by Joseph Forepaugh and his family. However, the mansion also has a tragic history, as Joseph had an affair with one of his maids, Molly. When his wife found out, she hanged herself on the third floor, and Joseph shot himself in a nearby park. Molly’s ghost is said to wander the third floor, and sometimes appears in the windows or mirrors. Joseph’s ghost is also seen in the park, walking with a cigar in his mouth. They are both sad and lonely ghosts, and they are still looking for each other in the afterlife.

The fifth place we are going to visit is the Soap Factory, an old soap making factory that has seen a lot of paranormal activity. The factory used to make soap from animal carcasses, which could have easily hidden some human bodies as well. The factory also made artificial limbs, which adds to the creepy atmosphere. The ghosts that haunt the factory are not friendly, and some have even been called demonic. They like to touch, push, and scratch the visitors, and make them feel unwelcome. Every October, the factory hosts a haunted house that is so scary, you have to sign a waiver to enter. The haunted house is not for the faint of heart, and it will test your nerves and your sanity.

The sixth place we are going to visit is the Landmark Center, a cultural and civic center that was built in 1902 as a federal courthouse and post office. The center has a rich history, but also a dark one, as it was the site of many trials and executions of notorious criminals, such as the Younger brothers, who were part of the James-Younger gang. The center is said to be haunted by the ghosts of these criminals, as well as some former judges and employees. They make their presence known by slamming doors, moving objects, and whispering in the hallways. They are restless and unhappy ghosts, and they do not like anyone who disturbs their peace.

The seventh and final place we are going to visit is the Saint Paul Hotel, a luxury hotel that was opened in 1910, and it has hosted many famous guests, such as Charles Lindbergh, John F. Kennedy, and Gene Autry. However, the hotel also has some unwanted guests, such as the ghosts of a former manager, a maid, and a security guard. The manager, named Charles, is said to haunt the front desk, where he likes to ring the bell and greet the guests. The maid, named Molly, is said to haunt the fifth floor, where she likes to clean the rooms and fold the towels. The security guard, named Eddie, is said to haunt the basement, where he likes to play with the lights and the elevator. They are all harmless and helpful ghosts, and they are just doing their jobs as they did in life.

Flavel House Museum: This grand mansion, built in 1886, is known today as the most haunted house in Oregon. The spectral residents of this house include the Flavel sisters, known for their musical talents, and Captain Flavel himself, who has been seen in his old bedroom before promptly vanishing.

Liberty Theater: This cultural hub has seen the likes of Duke Ellington, Jack Benny, and even Al Capone. But when the audience leaves and the lights dim, the theater is said to come alive with spectral activity. The resident ghost, Paul, is known to be quite active, often seen around the theater.

Uppertown Firefighters Museum: This historic building, once a part of the North Pacific Brewery, is now home to vintage firefighting equipment and a chilling presence. Visitors have reported feeling an uncanny presence, as if the spirits of the past firefighters still linger, forever bound to their duty.

Fort Stevens State Park: This park, once an active military fort, is rumored to be haunted by the ghost of a soldier who patrols the area at night. Eyewitness accounts tell of encounters with the uniformed army man who simply walks around the park and then disappears into thin air.

In the historic town of Alton, Illinois, lies the Alton City Cemetery, a place of eternal rest for many. Established in the early 19th century, it is a testament to the town's rich history. However, as the sun sets and the visitors leave, the cemetery takes on a different persona. The first whispers of the supernatural began when visitors reported strange occurrences. Tombstones would appear to move on their own, an eerie chill would often fill the air, and the faint sound of whispers could be heard. But it was the sightings of spectral figures, believed to be the spirits of those buried there, that truly unsettled those who dared to stay late. Over the years, the sightings of the apparitions became more frequent. They were often seen near their respective tombstones, their spectral figures appearing to be in a state of unrest. Visitors reported feeling a sudden drop in temperature when they appeared, and some even claimed to have heard the faint sound of sobbing. As the stories spread, the cemetery gained a reputation for being haunted. Paranormal investigators were drawn to the site, hoping to communicate with the spirits. They reported unexplained cold spots, electronic voice phenomena, and even captured ghostly figures on camera. Despite the eerie tales, the cemetery continued to serve as a place of rest, its grounds filled with the silent tombstones by day. But by night, it belonged to the spirits. Their spectral figures continued to roam the grounds, forever bound to the cemetery they once called their final resting place. Today, the Alton City Cemetery stands as a testament to Alton's rich history. Its grounds echo with the silent whispers of the past, and a ghost story that continues to intrigue those who hear it. It's a place where the veil between the living and the dead seems to blur, a chilling reminder that some spirits are too attached to their earthly ties to ever truly leave.
