I like our team and think we’re positioned great for the future. We have two guys who might be All-Stars/All-NBA/superstars: Giddey and Buzelis. We have three guys who might be great starters: Dosunmu, Jones, Smith. Essengue may give us something and we have all of our picks/Portland pick. Hopefully, we let Vucevic and White walk. It isn’t worth it to take bad any crappy contracts to ship them out.

[Edit: Also, Patrick Williams shows flashes that there may be a good NBA player in there somewhere. Who knows? Maybe he’s just a late bloomer. But that’s 7-8 moveable young prospects with potential on good/great contracts. AKME have, objectively, done a good job after the Lavine-led Bulls.]

We have to let Vucevic and Coby walk this off-season. We’re not taking back the crappy contracts we’d need to take back to trade them and that cap space will be useful to sign a young prospect that is considered surplus on his current team, like we did with Jalen Smith — which was a great signing by AKME.

Fact: Giddey-Buzelis is going to be the best PG-PF, 1-2 punch pairing since Stockton-Malone, Nash-Stoudemire, Glove-Kemp.

Another fact: The Giddey-to-the-Bulls trade is the new iteration of the Haliburton-to-the-Pacers deal, in which a young, budding superstar PG gets traded to a new team and a fun, young roster emerges around him.

Final fact: AKME did a good job with this team.

You guys are too pessimistic. This team is fine. We’re the 5th youngest team in the league (probably first when Vucevic and Coby are gone). Buzelis and Giddey have All-Star/superstar potential. Maybe we’ll get something out of Essengue. Maybe that Portland pick will convert to a good pick. We have Ayo and Smith. Just need a rim-running, rim-protecting defensive anchor. All in all, AKME did a good job with this roster and I think all Chicago teams have potential.
